HK are you trying to say the only reason I watch "Hannibal" is because of Mads?...That isnt true. I enjoy horror and pretty much watch any tv show that features horror.
I was, but I was only kidding. :)

I agree HK: One of the things I dislike about Hannibal TV show is that there is no light at all, every scene is in the dark and it's annoying. I know it's trying to be stylish but no need for every scene. Watched 4 episodes of season 2 I think, I'll get round to finishing it eventually as I think the show itself is pretty good.
It's an OK programme, obviously it's very well written and acted but I only really liked the first and last episodes of season 1 and, had it not been for that last episode of season 1, I wouldn't have bothered looking at season 2. It's just something I find really annoying and it happens too often in Hannibal for me to put up with it. Criminal Minds was almost there by season 6 and, had I been sat watching it properly rather than at the computer, I doubt I'd have watched the last two or three seasons. I finally gave up on it this year.

@ HK. It was the Ring. I've seen both, but saw the Ring first. I think it's the better version.

So I didn't know this was happening but our Natural History Museum will be having free werewolf movies on Fridays then they have a discussion about the science and myth of wolves and such with a panel of experts. I missed Friday (the first one) but I'm there next Friday. It's for this wolf to dog exhibition the museum has running. I knew about that part of it, but somehow missed the movie part.

Yeah, I'm real lucky in some aspects. The muesum does a lot of cool things as does our library. We also have a lot of parks and neat places to walk as well as some interesting historical towns near by. The crime rate is pretty low (Danny Rollings was executed the year I moved here, but there hasn't been anything close to him since) and we have a nice arthouse theater that puts on plays as well. My only real complaint is the multitude of drunk college students and over enthusiasm for football. But it's summer so neither of those things are problomatic at this time. Love Gainesville in the summer.

Sounds great. Ipswich is a cultural wasteland. (Cue tumbleweed) You have to go to Brisbane to find anything more than the latest blockbusters, football or drinking yourself into a coma. Even then Brisbane is regarded as a backwater, with Sydney or Melbourne being where film festivals, conventions etc. are held.

Do you read tarot cards for people? The other day, I was thinking of making a "MoFo Tarot Cards" thread, but wasn't sure how to go about this. Maybe you could do it. You could make MoFo Tarot Cards using MoFos or something. Unless that's too strange. I use a tarot card app on my phone and draw one when I need help on a spiritual question.

Slapstick comedy cracks you up, but not as much as a perfectly placed F-bomb or wildly inappropriate remark. A practical joker, you have a gaggle of loyal friends who are always ready to party, but who also have your back.

What's the Gold Coast like? I always hear things about it in a rather negative light, but I don't know that much about it.

The Gold Coast used to be a good family holiday destination. It's now more glitzy and 'fashionable'. This used to be confined to Surfer's Paradise, but has now exploded to include the whole city. It's more like Las Vegas, I guess. We used to go to Coolangatta (southern end of the Gold Coast) for holidays when I was a kid and it was very family orientated. Now it's too commercialised.

http://images.leisurecom.com/location/200711024835coolangatta.jpg

For anyone interested, Coolangatta beach is shown very quickly in Jaws. There's a picture in the shark book that Brody is looking through.

You radiate the divine and the natural. You are intuitive in your beliefs and choices. You are a blessing - even if you come in disguise from time to time.

Artsy and contemplative, you have a unique way of looking at the world. You're used to blank stares and lots of questions because your outlook is so much different from everyone else's. Being different doesn't bother you. It's your calling.

I've been to Dunkin' Donuts and then made Tim go to Krispy Kreme with me. (Then proceeded to make fun of him for it) and now I just finished one from the Quickie Mart. (they are only 50 cents after noon) I'm going to have one more tomorrow and then I will stop.

you are making it worse for me....i need to find something to eat before bed because I need to take pain medication.... no donuts here.... but i do have a banana nut muffin... but its supposed to be for breakfast on my way to work.. :(

Donuts at a wedding reception? I've never seen that, but I would love it. Maybe I'll ask my dad to have donuts at his. He's not having a huge wedding reception, but more like a get together at his house. My old house.

I was just thinking the other day that I will have a new little brother, but we are both adults. He seems cool. I wouldn't mind having a little brother to boss around.

I don't even really care much about cake. The only thing cake has going for it is that it's traditional. You EXPECT a cake. But personally, I don't always enjoy cake. There have been lots of cakes I could have just not have consumed.

There are tons of different kinds of donuts too. There are even cake donuts. (Which you would think would be the best thing in the world, but sadly aren't very good. )

If we are talking big huge cakes then I might give the donut the edge, but when you put the cake in cupcake form, I just don't know. Thank god there is room in the world for both.

I used to hate pie when I was a kid, but over the years, it's found its way into my life system.

I LOVE key lime pie. That was the first time that pie took over my soul. I would ask for key lime pie on my birthday instead of a cake. It is so tasty and tart and sweet.

I'm not a cupcake person. I'll eat them, but they're not my thing. Especially if you go to a cupcake place and it's like $5 for a specialty made cupcake. Oh, Hell no. My sister dragged me to one once and I was like, "I'm not getting one of those unless you buy it." Hell no was I gonna spend $5 on some fancy schmancy cupcake. They were all little and they were gone in two bites. But she was CRAZY about them. Like it was the best thing in the world. For $5, I better get a case of cupcakes, not just one.

The cookies at Subway are divine. I went there last week and had some. I always get the cookies instead of the chips. Screw the chips. You are not getting a full Subway experience if you get the chips instead of the cookies.

If it's HUGE, it might be worth it, especially if they're some kind of specialty thing and it tastes damn good. But these cupcakes I remember were normal sized and nothing special. Did they look good? Sure. Oreo's? They're not proper biscuits. They're all cheap tasting. I'll eat them, obviously, because I adore biscuits, but I want real biscuits.

The reigning champion of biscuits, as far as I'm concerned, is a McVitie's Dark Chocolate Digestive.

I actually always think of Oreos as crack cocaine. Once I start eating them, it's hard for me to stop. I don't think of them as "cheap tasting" at all. Generic, off flavor Oreos -- yes. Those tend to be "cheap tasting." But an Oreo is an OREO. They may not be freshly made cookies, but they are a damn good substitute. Maybe they taste different where Honeykid lives.

Sometimes, though, Oreos can taste funny for some reason. If they're not fresh or something. That's always disappointing. But when they're good, they are GOOD.

Those cookies Honeykid posted might taste good, but I don't like the fact that they're called "Digestives." What a ridiculous, gross name for cookies. It sounds like old lady medicine in the form of a cookie.

They're OK. They make a nice change now and again. The chocolate is very nice, though. In fact, one of the problems I have with those is that I usually eat the chocolate around the side first, which always tastes better than the biscuit. Then the chocolate/biscuits ratio is off. :D Looking again at the pic, the ones I usually have, the biscuit is a smaller base than the chocolate on it.

I love Signs.

I think Lady in the Water and The Village are ok, nothing groundbreaking though.

And I've seen bits and pieces of Unbreakable and Sixth Sense but not enough to rate, at least from memory.

I wrote about my views on Signs here:

Signs was a huge influence on me around when it came out, I was obsessed with it, but watching it now it's definitely flawed and I can't blame Gunslinger for not liking it, even if I still like it. I just enjoy that atmosphere and the impending sense of doom.

Funny story, I first saw it in theaters with my dad and one of my sisters. All the talk in the film about the end of the world literally made me puke. I was absolutely terrified of Armageddon at that age. Then, I got it for Christmas, and I watched it and its special features constantly, obsessed about it, and really got into filmmaking, making my own stuff. I owe Shyamalan a lot for that. He was my favorite director at that age.

I also like The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, The Village, and even The Happening - though just because it's fun to watch, not because it's a good film or anything.

I'm being confused with SC over whether I fancy Jake G? The horror.

There used to be a saying.. "a gal is a woman over the age of 35 who wants to appear younger than she really is".... so I guess that fits me... Im in my late 40's but most think Im far younger.....

I use a completely different username at other forums I have belonged to... I wont mention it here.... but if you remember the link I used to have in my signature and translate the words from Spanish to English.. then you would know what it was..

Please do not say it here if anyone remembers it..... you can private message me and ask if it was that... but I dont want it posted publicly.

Today when I got home I bent down to pick up something I dropped on the floor. All of a sudden I felt my hair being pulled hard and I had a fan attached to the side of my head. Luckily I was able to remove my hair from the fan without any help because that would have been really embarrassing.

I only lost a handful of hair, but my scalp is pretty tender.

I watch it every day when I get home. There are some of the best lines ever written from that show.

The Michael Scott jeopardy bit when he's talking to Ryan cracks me up every time.

I also love the running, "Beer me!" gag.

Family in town for the month so my movie watching has been very limited. They decided to take off to Atlanta for the weekend though so I am going to have a cram session. I was going to start to get into the 60's but a bunch of stuff has come out lately that I want to catch up on on instead. Last night was Under The Skin and Tammy, don't judge me we all need to giggle once in a while. Today I am going with Blood Ties, Enemy, The Immigrant. What is everyone else up to this fine Saturday?
