I like all the coaches on the voice, but Blake and Adam are my favorites. I think they're the two best coaches. The Voice did a good job of finding good judges right from the first season.

Yeah, The Voice is a much better show. They have more talented singers, and better coaches, and they avoid the BS that Idol seems to thrive on every year.
Jennifer Lopez is my least favorite of the three judges, but she seems to mesh well with Harry and Keith. I've been very impressed with Harry Connick Jr. I didn't realize how much he really knows about music before he became a judge on Idol. I thought he was just a singer with a great voice, but he's really very smart about everything related to music. I think he helps the contestants more than any of the other judges.

I guess I should have just spelled out the story. I was on my cell calling a cab and they overheard me. They told me I didn't have to wait they had a cab just down the street. Obvious scam. They wanted to get me to a secluded place. I wasn't about to go and there were enough people where I was at to keep me safe. So I guess it wasn't an almost mugging but rather two guys who wanted to mug me but I'm not stupid.

They would have to get someone really secluded for that. They heard me calling a cab so I figure they figured I might have some cash and would just knock me down and take it.
Mugging are very common like that. Easy money and if you don't use a weapon; not much jail time if caught. Comparatively at least.
Things like, "I'll bet you 20 bucks I know where you got your shoes." Are really common as well and a more polite interactive way of ripping someone off. Just remember you got your shoes on your feet.

I have a horrible headache, but I actually slept really good. Didn't watch a movie last night, I went to something around here called "Must-Art Mondays" - it's at the place of a new friend of mine. She is part of this Flint Public Art Program. They give free or low rent housing to local artists who send out applications that would help out other artists in the city. At her place yesterday, someone was writing poetry for something later on that night, a few people paint, I was playing music with another guitar player and violinist, we listen to music, someone brought some delicious homemade chili.. We also talk about whatever, yesterday was how people follow horrible movements throughout history, etc etc...
I'm actually going to submit something soon. I have a portastudio, where I can record musicians, poets, and even add music if they wish.. Maybe publish some written work for others. I'd love to have a little "Movie Club" where we talk film, maybe watch something, have a setting to make some low-budget stuff Downtown..

long and stressful day. Finished a paper on Taoism, filmed a deposition here in town, got a $138 speeding ticket going 46 MPH in a 35 on my way to class to turn in said paper. Then listened to a lecture about the religion Zoroastrianism, which i had never even heard of, who believe that when you die you face a judge that weighs your good deeds and your bad deeds on a scale. If your good outweighs your bad, 20 beautiful virgins escort you to paradise. If your bad outweighs your good, the smelliest, ugliest old lady leads you the other way where you have to walk on the edge of an infinite sword... which doesn't last that long bc you're walking on a friggin sword cutting through your feet, then you fall into a lake of flames
Then we learned about the Dome of the Rock, the Muslim Temple built inside the walls of the ancient Jewish Temple ruins. Muslims believe that is where their prophet Mohammad ascended into heaven. While Christians believe that Jesus can't return until all the Jews return to Israel and rebuild the Jewish Temple... which is in the same place as the Muslim temple Dome of the Rock. Sounds like World War 3
stress. blah
Read some Carl Sagan, that'll cheer you up.

Maybe you need to get out of the house for a few minutes. Stop by CVS, get him some medicine. Stop by Dairy Queen, get yourself an ice cream. You might get a few gift cards out of the trip.
We don't have a Dairy Queen near here, but it's a little cold for ice cream right now anyway, so can I have soup instead?

No, you must go somewhere and get ice cream. Get the ice cream and then sue the place for serving you ice cream that is "too cold." Tell them you got hypothermia. If they scoff or try to object or say, "Lady... you shouldn't have been eating ice cream when it's so cold outside" -- tell them, NO EXCUSES! Their ice cream gave you hypothermia and you want compensation for it. Sue the whole damn parlor.

Hubby came home from work early today because he's sick. He's been home about 10 minutes, and he's already driving me crazy. (He acts like such a big baby when he's sick.) That's what us guys do.;) So what's he doing that driving you crazy?

He's complaining about everything. It's too hot, then it's too cold. He can't eat anything because he's sick, but he's hungry. I offered to make him something to eat, but he said he was too sick to eat. He's so tired that he can barely keep his eyes open, but he wanted to stay in the living room and watch TV with me. (We have a TV in the bedroom, and he can watch whatever he wants to watch in there, and then he won't fall asleep in the living room.)
Nothing is right when he's sick.
He finally went into the bedroom to get some rest a little while ago, so hopefully he'll sleep for a few hours and feel better when he wakes up.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure how that happened. I'm not really much of a fighter, but I expect good service and my order to be correct, and I'm not afraid to say something to the manager when they get it wrong.

But too often they make it worse when they try to correct their mistake, or even worse, they try to blame the customer for their mistake.
