It's really easy to not do vegetarianism the right way and I really wasn't doing it right. I have some health problems now that I think my low-protein, high carbohydrate vegetarian diet contributed a lot to. And it can be difficult to get enough protein when you're a vegetarian.
On that note, DO NOT rely heavily on soy for your protein. Soy contains phytoestrogens that can f*ck up your own hormonal balance if you eat too much of it.
Also, meat tastes really good.

I like chickens. We used to have a stray one that lived behind my office. She was friendly and cute. She disappeared though, I'm afraid somebody stole her or a predator got her. :(
Of course, that doesn't stop me from eating chicken. But they are the only kind of bird I would ever consider having.
Here she is:
http://www.angelfire.com/music6/walteregan/forumphotos/chicken.jpg
She's adorable.
I have to look into building a chicken hutch.
I bet Bunny would love it if I had chickens. He seems to have a lot of natural guarding instincts, so I bet he would like something to take care of.
As for the vegetarian conversation, I don't really like meat all that much anyway. Never have. Turkey sandwiches around Thanksgiving time are the only thing I miss.
I never got the love for steak. The only thing I liked about it was the steak sauce.
I can't stand soy or soy products. There is this one place in town that will make me vegan Kang Masamon and they put tofu in it. I don't know how they do it, but it's delicious. Otherwise, I don't eat it.
I could live off black beans and rice so I get my protein from that.

My best friend and Tim love steak. We will grill out and I'll make green and red peppers with mushrooms in this marinade and grill that. It's delicious. The boys like that too, but they have to have their steak. I'll also grill white corn. Yum.
My dogs love it.

Yeah, but I would want to drown the taste of the meat. :D When I was a kid we would go to these really expensive steak houses and my mom would get so mad at me for drowning my steak. Finally they realized they were better off going to the steakhouses a lone and taking me to Asian restaurants or a pizza joint.

I like fruity drinks like mojitos, margaritas and daquiris and I like Mike's (especially the strawberry lemonade and the limeade), but my Asian genes make me react badly to alcohol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_flush_reaction). I don't drink often and when I do it's usually just one.

I believe marijuana is a green leaf that is alive. It will probably one day rule the world, if legalization happens. That's why we need to stop it from being legalized - if it is legalized, everyone will smoke this leaf and will be high and get fat, and do nothing. Then, the leaves will jump up and start telling us all what to do, effectively becoming the leaders. They are like Jigsaw at the end of Saw... you think they're inanimate now... just wait.

Everyone's mind is different, though. I totally disagree that marijuana is going to turn you into a big t-shirt wearing, rap loving stoner. I believe that people who are like that and who also smoke pot have other issues in their lives that made them that way. Marijuana, if you're a dealer, is a great way to make big money, which is what a lot of rap music is about -- making a lot of money, living a luxurious life, having forbidden things like illegal marijuana. It's all about accessing power and being a big boy. That's why it's attractive to those types. There are things about these people and their minds that make them interested in that stuff, including marijuana. But marijuana does NOT turn you into a character like that. Whether or not marijuana has other effects on the brain is possible, though -- like if maybe it makes you a violent person -- but there are lots of people who disagree with that idea, too.

Some people have reported having experiences where "they felt like they were no longer attached to their body."
I believe those people are serious and should be considered for the truth about marijuana. I know because marijuana made me feel that way once and it was weird. I have talked to people who are pro-marijuana about this -- they were very belligerent about the "fact" that marijuana does not cause problems in people. That it's the people themselves who are the problem. That they shouldn't be taking marijuana.
I hate that. I hate that way of thinking. These people are so dead set on having marijuana legalized that they overlook everything. It's disgusting. I'm for marijuana legalization, but health hazards have to be considered. It could very well be dangerous to you. Taking it is risky, I believe. You are messing with your brain in a big way. But I don't believe it's going to turn you into a certain kind of person. It might damage your cognition, but if you turn into a certain kind of person, that's because of you and you alone.

Whether or not marijuana has other effects on the brain is possible, though -- like if maybe it makes you a violent person -- but there are lots of people who disagree with that idea, too.
Considering the underlying theme of your post regarding the culture around drug dealing in general, you did very well to tiptoe out of attributing it to a certain group -- I bet it was on the tip of your tongue, though.

Alcohol impairs judgement and makes one appear less intelligent as well and can adversely affect one's intelligence over time if they are a heavy drinker. So are you for the delegalization of alcohol as well?
You're assuming that everyone who drinks is an alcoholic, at which point the adverse effects on the mind you describe would occur. Smoking weed, even socially and not to excess has proven to be an underlying cause of anxiety disorders in young people, as medical studies have proven.

I'm one of those people that it does that to, SC. Firstly, it's pretty uncommon for it to make you feel that way. Second, people that it makes feel like that aren't going to smoke it. It's horrible.
I imagine it's some kind of allergic reaction or that the person has some sort of brain chemistry that it just does that to.
Keeping in my alcohol comparison, some people just can't drink either. I'm a sillier more talkative version of myself when I drink (or used to) like most people are, but some people drink and become another person entirely. I'm not talking about alcoholics either. I'm talking about a normal person that has a third drink and their personalities just change.
Sexy, I told you I haven't cried since I was 12. That was a lie. I did cry once, when I was starting to have mental problems a bit before my full psychotic breakdown. I had smoked some marijuana and had such a bad trip, I actually cried for the first time in nearly a decade. It was very intense.

I believe it's considered disassociation brought about by marijuana. Or something like that. I've read accounts of people who got the condition after having tried marijuana once and it never went away. I feel for those people and think their issue should be taken seriously. But too often, I've seen pro-marijuana people just saying, "It's nothing. It's just them. They need to WORK on making it go away."
Mine went away after doing marijuana again. But I do worry about those who smoke it and it adversely affects them like that for a long time. Such effects, I believe, should be more known about instead of just trying to say "marijuana is perfect -- it will do nothing wrong to you."

I can completely believe marijuana could cause a psychotic breakdown.
However, alcohol might be able to do the same.
I don't think the marijuana caused the psychotic breakdown. I just think I started having bad trips when my mind started going berserk. However, when I started having mental problems I wasn't really smoking weeds. I'm pretty sure it's genetic for me. Although it's possible marijuana aggravated it. I mean, it didn't help.

No, I'm not. Anyone who drinks too much alcohol is going to have their judgement impared as well as motor skills and short term memory. I don't care if it's your first time drinking, seventh or seventh hundred.
Young people whose minds are forming and have not completed growing should not drink alcohol or smoke pot. I'm talking about adults.
We can show medical studies all day long if you want to. Both will be negative if smoked or drank in excess, but alcohol will win hands down. If you're a heavy daily drinker you are devestating your body.
I believe both should be legal for adults and if one chooses to do one or the other in abundance then they are taking risks with their health.

I think legalising weed will open a Pandoras box in this country. Liberals will jump all over it, and before we know it cocaine and heroin will be next.

I get very annoyed with the pro-legalization of marijuana camp when certain members try to sweep the negative factors of it under the rug and pretend it's actually "healthy" No, it's not.
It's done a lot of good for pain management and is not as risky as opiates. Trust me on that one. Painkillers are bad news. You can be addicted before you even finish a prescription.
Also, I feel alcohol and marijuana both can have benefits of relaxing a person and increasing enjoyment of an activity. I see nothing wrong with that in moderation.
To pretend either of them is "safe" and the other "evil" is annoying to me. I don't do either so it's not like a have a dog in the race. I just think adults should be able to make up their own mind.
If it's a drunks vs. stoners debate, I'll take neither please, but at least stoners are easier to get away from.

Why do people feel like they have the knowledge to make a scientific decision about marijuana? It's the same thing as people who argue about choice in sexuality, you should be arguing about morality, not the science, because odds are you don't know what you're talking about scientifically (it's too little a researched field to say anything definitive anyways.

I actually don't disagree with that way of thinking. They very well could be. The "marijuana isn't a gateway drug" thing is another thing I'm skeptical about. People I knew who were only smoking marijuana were thinking about trying mushrooms the last time I spoke with them.

There are people who believe that all drugs should be legalized. Not just marijuana. Possibly, more people would start to believe that, too, after marijuana is legalized. I think there's truth to that possibility.

I don't think I was using any science that hasn't been confirmed. The fact that there are health risks involved in the heavy consumption of alcohol and marijuana is pretty well confirmed, I believe. I don't think I argued any science other than that.
