Hey you cook and bake a lot right? Have you ever heard of using whipped topping and dry vanilla pudding mix for an icing mix on a cake? Sounds good! But never tried it before. You should make it and tells us how it turns out.

Did you know real vanilla is like real expensive? I couldn't believe how much it cost now.

I started buying fake-o vanilla because I couldn't afford the real stuff. I've seen it growing for cultivation before too. I should have stock piled it:p

What's up, guys? Can I join the club? Promise I won't tell anybody about it. #FightClub

-Thought I'd share that I found the steel book of X-MEN: Apocalypse on eBay. Apparently it was a BestBuy exclusive upon DVD release. I liked the movie, despite suffering mutant burnout like most fans (then Logan happened), especially certain moments and characters getting some shine, and I already own First Class and Days of Future Past. I also heard the special features are neat. I'm not sure how good Phoenix will be, but I'll definitely check it out. It's my first steel book ever for my collection. Guy wanted $12 for it originally, but it's brand new almost so I gave him $15, which they were happy about. eBay interactions are cool that way, unlike Amazon where it's less interpersonal.

-Also, I recently bought a CineMark Movie Club membership ($8.99/mo) that gets you a discounted ticket every month (they're normally $14). Wife and I saw Fantastic Beasts 2 there on discount day ($6 ticket for her) and you also save 20% at the snack bar with a slight reward system. Like, I got $2 off a fountain drink for activating CineMode (dimming my phone in the app during the movie, not sure why this is a thing when I can just my phone off, lol, and it only applies to my phone's brightness while being within the app) but I have to redeem it within a week, and I don't go to the movies like that.

-It's a nice theater. Never been to one with luxury recliners for seating. Snack bar was only $20 and we got a large popcorn, large drink, nachos (for me!) and she even got chicken tenders and fries. The tickets roll over too, so if nothing of interest is playing, I can save it for Phoenix later next year. They also have the gun games and a cool Terminator Salvation one (first saw that when my cousin and I saw it in theaters, I think). Cash only, though, and you "buy" tokens with cash then you can play stuff. Even a nice sitdown area, and it's only a mile from our home. :D With the app, I just showed the usher our tickets at the entry point and boom we're good to go. I remember when my uncle called to see if enough tickets were available for LOTR: Return of the King. Technology is cool sometimes.

-Wife and I are currently re-watching The Hunger Games on TNT. We recently got Sling TV (initially so I can watch NBA TV) but she's also found a lot of enjoyment out of stuff so far on there too. We already have Netflix and Hulu, but we exhaust our shows sometimes and things get a bit dull TV-wise. Her Van Helsing show comes on soon.

-My cousin also bought me Red Dead Redemption 2 for my birthday. I bought him an external hard drive (same one I have) so a nice trade. Been trying to play it, but work lately's been tiring due to the Thanksgiving storm (feel sorry for anyone working retail today, #BlackFriday). Mostly work second shift, so it's tough for me to be up early. Actually woke up at 11 today which is early for me so I finally got to play it and it's pretty nice. Gonna play more later tonight! Loved the first game.

Miss Kwan a writer with writer's block and her goofy cop boyfriend are being tormented by an American named Daniel who's housing two escaped rapists. Daniel and the two friends spend there time combing the bars and clubs looking for girls. They cross paths with Kwan and her friends and the madness and carnage begins. Anthony Wong also stars as a lunatic named the Human Milk Drinking Doctor. A madman who rapes lactating women. He's reformed though (through working as an projectionist in a porno theater). Wong helps the couple defeat Daniel and his co-horts. Holy cow. Beat me if this isn't the best synopsis of a movie ever. I thought watching the sequels to Raped by an Angel is not worth it, but oh boy, was I wrong!

Yes, we're definitely getting another rabbit soon. We're just waiting until after the summer because we have a few weekend trips planned, and we don't want to leave a new pet home alone for a couple of days yet. We want to make sure he's used to us going out for at least a few hours first so he'll know that we're coming back soon.

lol this is about right..

Pisces: You Are An Emotionally Volatile Nightmare - Feelings, though, aren't always gentle and sweet. You know that better than anyone, because your own emotions - the same overwhelming forces that inspire you to make the world a better place - can take you to very dark places, especially if you believe that the subject of your ire has shown unwarranted cruelty toward you or something you hold dear. You know that your feelings aren't necessarily rational, but that doesn't stop you from dramatically blaming other people for causing you pain. Of course, you might not even stop at crying; that notoriously brilliant creativity might even spur you to express your wrath artistically - nothing says “emotional stability” like a morose, vengeful poem.

I have worn a poncho in the rain - for the first time in my life!! That's right , I never wore or owned a rain poncho before this month.

And it works! Beautifully !!! I was totally dry. I never was kept this dry in the rain with any umbrella. Plus, it's windproof- no flimsy ribs to fold up on you in the breeze. And it's also easy to pack 'n carry; just wrap it up into a small ball and carry it in your purse . And the other great thing is, this poncho is roomy....if not, voluminous - I can easily carry my purse and newspaper and a couple bags of groceries and it all stays dry. Heck, I could probably walk along in the rain while KNITTING a poncho
( wool type I mean) and still stay dry. Wonderful invention.

There are only 2 drawbacks to my rain poncho as far as I can tell.

First of all I haven't yet truly ....ah.....mastered.... the art of fastening the snaps, so when a storm hit as I was leaving the supermarket, I sorta hadda have a checkout gal ....or two....fasten the snaps. 🙄They actually seemed to get a kick out of helping me, so it's all good with me- 🙂but not sure what I' ll do if it starts raining somewhere, sometime and there's no check out gals around.
Well I' ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Secondly I don't seem to look as adorable as I thought I would in my poncho. I look like a big bright green vinyl oval. With feet.

But maybe it's the color ....or the lack a designer label. I' m thinking if I wanna look cute maybe I' ll look for another one that s designed to be a bit more .....sleek. Maybe one that has bubbles and fishes on it. That oughtta bring a smile to someone.

At any rate, I' m not giving up my poncho. Next time you're dashing for cover in a rainstorm and you look up to see a happy green oval of a poncho ambling out of the grocery store, and singing "- singing in the rain" - that will be me. 😀

Miss Vicky

Since I started I've been to Berlin, Poland and Portugal.... and USA. And until recently, I have been working 6 days a week for over a month straight. It's been fun though. And I've experienced so much amazing stuff.

Interesting video John-Connor Nice touch hearing from the astronauts.

But...but....but....why did they leave out the planet Pluto???!? I thought I recently read somewheres that they decided to let Pluto back into the solar system. I mean , Pluto has moons! Only a planet has moons imho.

Sad. Sad. Sad. Soon a whole new generation will only think of Pluto as a dog.57014

I'm sorry but my friend's daughter is downright stupid. She's 23 years old and has a 10-month-old baby. Cutest little boy ever and never is a bother to anyone but his mother, OMG!!!

We were feeding him bits of pizza that I had made by hand and took over there for our Friday night movie watch etc. As his grandmother was giving him pizza, his mother yells in the living room, "Stop feeding him that stuff. He's a baby, not a human!!!" OFG, what the hell is a baby then?

Holy cow was this last month super busy for me. My company is moving and I've been working weekends non-stop. Even worked today, but was finally able to go home early and will be off work until the 2nd.

Moving movie gear across the city is not fun. They had all year to get this done and they waited until the LAST POSSIBLE WEEKEND to officially move everything? Give me a break. A positive with the move though is that it cuts 40 minutes out of my commute. So now it's roughly an hour to get home. Getting to the location in the morning will be a breeze now.

Anyways, that's why I've been mostly MIA the last month or so. Plan to finish up my movie year review thread and hopefully be more active here.

I just got asked the weirdest question at work.

Some woman just came in and was asking questions about the veterinary clinic where I work, which isn't unusual. She said she was new to town and wanted to know a little bit about us. She asked how many doctors work here, if the doctor is from America, how long he's been practicing and if he's ever been sued for malpractice - all fairly typical questions from a prospective client...

...and then she asked if the doctor worships Satan.

WTF.

I told the doctor and we had a good laugh about it.

This morning, I went to the orthopedic doctor because I have had a swollen knee since Mid January. They drew about 2 cups of fluid out. They are sending it to the lab to see what the fluid is. I got a call from them about 4:30 today and I guess it isn't as simple as the doctor thought it would be. Nothing came back conclusive yet. Not gout, not pseudogout, so it must be some type of infection. I hope not. Damn it hurt when he got the fluid out!

Yeah, I find it funny how Randy says they react one way to a certain painter versus another painter. My daughter knows Randy as he's over our zoo.. she said he's a great guy. Its neat that they took them to the art museum for enrichment.

Back before COVID, I would go to a Museum each month. I live in Ventura County so I'm really close to Los Angeles. I love museums and zoological parks.. With my daughter growing up, I always got a membership to our zoo.. after my daughter graduated community college, she started volunteering at the zoo.. My friend said to me, "I bet you are happy she's working at the zoo, that's what you always wanted for her"., No, I wanted her to enjoy her job and that's what she's doing now. Associates in Biology, works in the Education Department at Kansas City Zoo...

My daughter is lead employee at "Stingray Bay" at our zoo... She has said that we could both get a certification in "Interpretive Speech" together so she can move up to a management position and I could work at a museum, which would be a dream job. However, the closes to me are Oklahoma City or Chicago. You pay for a week's worth of courses and your certification test at the end. I do not have the time nor money to do that right now in my life.

That's really cool! We have two zoo's here, LA and Santa Barbara, and Sea World in San Diego. (And if your up for the trek, the Monterey Bay Aquarium which is just phenomenal). Good for your daughter though! I'm so very happy for her! Yes, it's best to fall into a vocation you enjoy than do something that you're just "grinding" and "getting by." I'll have to check into the NAI. I may end up submitting a donation. As for Griffith Park, that too is something I've been to a number of times. Many times I've revisit a certain Museum, Zoo, etc. on any given month. Sometimes if I had vacation time I'd schedule whole trips around seeing the Museums and National Parks of California like Joshua Tree, Yosemite, Sequoia, Death Valley. In fact, there's a Historical Museum on the way to Death Valley which documents all the films, (mainly westerns), filmed there. It's really cool!

We have the Kansas City Zoo, Topeka Zoo, Kansas Wildlife Exhibit, Sedgwick County Zoo, and Tanganyika Wildlife Park. We have SeaLife Aquarium (my daughter had worked here before as well), Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Thomas Hart Benton Museum (Kansas City Museum, is now what it called), University of Kansas Natural History Museum and several others on campus in Lawerence, KS. We have some at the University of Missouri, both Kansas City and Columbia campus. Kansas City is full of places to enjoy as well as the surrounding area within a 100-mile radius.

There are a few things you can do if you want to be just like me:

1. Skin me of my flesh and wear it like your own.
2. Replace your vocal cords with mine.
3. Steal my identity.
4. Bond with my cat Banksy.

I ended up watching "Den 12. Mann", a very interesting film. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays a Nazi Sturmbannführer. He spoke German pretty much the whole film.

Took my "test" today.. results in 2 to 3 days.. stuck at home, unpaid of course.. better come back negative.

Glad you liked the movie. I also put on a b&w Japanese noir (which I like so far) called "I Am Waiting". I'd recommend it. It's about a young man who sees a woman in distress, and helps her out.

I just came on to see if you had your results - too bad you have to wait so long. Are you feeling alright?

No one can be like Banksy. He is singular. At sunset he flaps his wings and flies to Mount Catnip, where an army of golden cat gods stand by with their spears, ready to protect humans from the terror of the dog demons! Banksy sits beside the cat gods, preparing his speech for when they ride into battle. So far, he has this:

Meow meow
Meow meow meow!
Meow
Meow meow meow
MEOWWWW!!!!!

I haven't seen it. "I Am Waiting" went downhill after a good start. I haven't had the ability to watch movies this year, despite having the time.

But I did watch the most recent (1977) Japanese movie I really liked called "The Yellow Handkerchief" - it was recommended by Mr. Minio. I gave it an 8.5/10 or a 9/10. Comedy/drama road trip.

I need a new avatar... Im kind of tired of my Thale Huldra right now...

I hope your test is negative.

When Hubby had to take his test, we made sure to find a place that had the rapid test. They told him he would have the results in about 15 minutes, but it was almost an hour, (and two phone calls), before they finally sent the results to the right email address.

But an hour was still a lot better than 2 to 3 days. He was so crazy after only an hour that I think I would have been scraping him off the ceiling if he had to wait that long.

So a fb friend mentioned 4 controversial books... I remember reading Lord of the Flies when I was in middle school on my own (not as a class assignment). I bought it through Scholastics Book Club. In 1990, they remade the movie. The original came out in 1963 (before my time). I enjoyed the remake and then watched the original years later. The book was better than both movies. I just checked where its streaming to perhaps watch it today. I am not going to pay $14.99 on Amazon to watch it.
