MovieGal, I dont cry or pass out (my husband's cousin faints, and I had a dental needle last year that made my dentist cry. LOL, he;s such a sweet man and felt really bad) but my veins dessicate and the medicos cant find one to stick needle in.I do everything right to keep them plump prior - drink lots of water, keep my arm covered in layers to keep it warm, pump my fist, but they shrivel up and run away. One day a few years ago when I was having chemo (I have to have a blood test prior) my veins were so dessicated the phlebotomist said she'd have to look for a vein on my foot. Nope, Nope, No way, not touching my hoofers!
Anyhoo, last year in hospital I had to have just about daily punctures which was my ultimate real life horror. The specialist ended up putting in a port in my chest
so now any chemo infusions or bloods to be taken dont need a pesky little vein in my arm. Only problem with the port is you have to be conscious when they put it in so I talked non stop about David Cronenberg. LOL. Thast was like 2 hours of movie talk with me off my head on drugs and rambling even more than on here.
So back to tattoos, when treatment is over this year I might get a tattoo around it to make it a bit prettier than it is now. just not sure on a design because it goes around a round blob of metal. Initially I thought a few hummingbirds because I love them so much but not sure how to fit in a round shape.
The moral of that rant is: never browse through profiles of old high school classmates on Facebook.

Ranting is very cathartic so fire away when you need, and yeah, bullying says more about bullies than you, Swany. Hold onto your uniqueness. You dont need to fit in with ******** bullies to be a nice, interesting and worthwhile person. And facebook brings out the worst in people - the other social media networks as well no doubt but fb is the only way I'm on so I love to rant about creepy zuckerberg!. fb phonies probably have very dull lives aw2ay from their laptops. It's the Look At Me society now.

For the past 4 months, I have been on a medication that lowers my immune system. This means I can get sick with anything really fast. Do me a favor, if you are sick, stay the f*ck home. Keep your sick kids at home. If you have to go to work, learn personal hygiene habits like washing your hands, cover your mouth when coughing and use a tissue when you sneeze! I don't need to be sicker than I am or in the f*cking hospital!
I have been sick with some sinus crap for the past 2 days.. and try my best to stay more healthy since I started this medication.
We have women at work who use the restroom but don't know what soap or a sink is.. so I know they don't care about their coughing or sneezing.. I work in a call center.

I dont leave home without hand sanitiser and my sister the other day suggested a surgical face mask but I'm not ready to go that far yet - maybe on a plane. Are gloves a possibility at work? And god damn it, I know every parent thinks their kids dont stink but they are riddled with bloody germs. Atleast teach the lil turds to sneeze and cough into the crook of their damn arm. I dont have immunity to those ferals. The sickest I've ever been in my life was being asked by a stranger to hold her disgusting baby who left chernobyl waste on my shoulder. 6 months of whooping cough. Just lovely.
Ursula Le Guin died. I read her Earthsea series when I was a kid. I dont remember that being remotely feminist sci fi or promoting ambisexuality (another bloody label. when does it stop!) Anyone else here?

The first day I had these meds the doc and all the nurses made a huge fuss about not being out with people for atleast 3 days after infusion, no hugs and kisses from family members except husband, and no peeing in communal toilets to protect other users. Well no one told me about smacking the lil bastard who sneezed right in my face when I was getting out of my car.
OK that's a bit harsh. I didnt do anything except fantasise. It's his parents' fault for not teaching him to have some god dayum manners! I dont hit children (I dont hit anyone to be honest) but I was tempted to give his dad the tongue lashing of the decade.

I was never an Affleck fan.. my favorite movie of his was "To the Wonder" .. he had like 3 words in the whole film.. then comes The Accountant.. no talking with some a$$ kicking.. became a favorite instantly..
There are some actors... I cant stand to look at or hear talk.. He's one.. Bradley Cooper.. is another.. cant stand to see his face..

He said capsules rather than tonic because the latter is sickeningly sweet, and as well as curing a sore as beepingly beeping throat he actually uses it daily to keep his tonsils sounding sweet. He has only got a sore throat after running out.

My daughter's closest friend from school is having another baby. They are going with Giraffe theme for the new girl...so what did we do tonight.. went and bought yarn in the colors of Chocolate, Honey, Mustard and Cream.. to make a Giraffe colored baby blanket.. well at least I will be the one crocheting it... I made her friend's first child a blanket of elementary colors... Blue, Yellow, Red and White... Her friend loved that blanket and plans on using it with the new baby.. but little does she know.. she will be getting another.

I do miss what this place used to be. Raul has been here longer than me so he would remember further back...I can say this place has really changed in the last year. It's become more fragmented with small groups of people staying in just a few areas of the board. It's not like we have as much board unity as we use to. I should try and mix it up more, sadly I don't have as much free time as I use to.

Just not a fan of having to respond to someone/being called to a thread i may not want to reply in and i feel bad if people think i'm ignoring them. I don't really use it myself either unless it's for a Countdown or Hall of Fame when i want to reply to a large amount of people.

Yeah, the Survivor threads did that and they were removed from Now Playing because of that. Intermission Threads were removed because of very heated and controversial political threads, but they don't seem to happen as often now for obvious reasons.

I don't eat any seafood, but I went to an all-you-can-eat Chinese and Japanese buffet with a friend who loves seafood. He took the sushi to the Mongolian grill section, (where you can make your own platter from the raw meats and vegetables, and they cook it on the grill while you wait), and he had them cook the sushi for him. :lol:

I admire any of you who can eat any kind of fish, be it raw or fried. I say this because my late Mom's family who live near Galveston are from a long line of shrimpers/fishermen and do/did it for a living. More of them run fishing businesses now, the shrimping having been pretty much taken over by others. But, if I ever go down there (and I haven't in years because long drives are anathema to me), I will never want for food because they're always cooking. Always. And I really can't stand seafood but I will eat it down there because of the variety: fried shrimp, fried or boiled crab, fried fish, gumbo, etc. notice a pattern? It's gotta be fried for me. That's one reason I admire you guys who eat sushi or anything raw. I just can't bring myself to do it.
Up here in North Texas, my late Dad used to fish in the fresh water ponds or lakes a lot, and I would never eat the (mostly) catfish he caught. But one time after he had cleaned the fish, he used some kind of breading on it that I can't remember, slathered it in mustard! and fried it in a pan with cooking oil. It was one of the best tasting things I've ever had. Now I've made myself hungry! :)

As far as some who has medical that i don't know to well ...i would wait until they told me...you mentioned enough that i know about you without asking...
Some people who have certain illnesses don't want others to pay a pity party.
With myself ...i was open that i had sinus problem last week...as far as why i take an autoimmune med ...i would have to really trust a person...

Yeah same for me. I never hesitate to say something about a pregnant colleague looking lovely or ask if the bub is kicking to make polite conversation, or even say How are you on this fine morning which I would say to anyone regardless of baby bump. That just seems bizarre to me. Obviously I wouldnt ask personal questions like So, do you have a raging case of haemorrhoids yet and how much does your bladder leak, dearie, but a How are you is just a greeting to me. Hi, How are ya today. It doesnt mean I expect a long list of complaints like my dear long departed grandmama used to give. It;s just a greeting.

Just a tip, I found I stopped getting as many coldy fluey bugs when I became a germ freak with hand sanitiser when dealing with other people, especially with travel. Amazing how often we touch our faces during the day without realising.

So I use hand sanitizer too, I even did back when people thought it was odd to do so. So that makes me cutting edge!

Yes, that's baloney. I've NEVER heard anyone say anything remotely like that. Americans ask each other how they are as a typical greeting and as a specific question towards someone that displays or has expressed that they are or have been ill or just not feeling well.

Yes that's a very good point. I made a typo that made my post sound different than intended, and I bet Dani took it wrong. So maybe her friend misinterpreted the meaning of Dani's question, or maybe like me Dani made a critical typo, like the one you posted.

Let me just say I work in a call center.... there are people there who do not wash their hands or use santizer... nor do they use a tissue or napkin or their arm to cover their mouths or to shield their sneezes...
They do not even clean up after themselves in the break room..

We are all adults and can take care of ourselves.... WTF ever! That proves it right there.... colds and flues spread like crazy there....
and the cleaning crew is not responsible to clean up after us nor is the people who work in our little cafeteria.

If it's for you to keep, and you don't care about the value, it would be cool to have the autograph on it. If you're thinking about selling it, try to get a picture of him actually signing it to prove that it's a real autograph. That's not an item that's likely to go up in value much, but proof of the autograph being real always helps increase the value of the autograph.

Just think ...before the judicial courts we have now....anyone could be admitted to psych hospital for any reason...
Apparently she was examined by several docs but only the court appointed one says she's still hearing voices.
Isnt it better that she's in a place getting help rather than a juvenile detention centre and then adult prison? I dont know your system over there but as it points out, regular petitions can be made for earlier release. There are so many unwell people walking around in society andnot getting any help so yes, I agree with it as an outsider looking in; If I happened to be the parents and friends of that girl I sure as hell wouldnt want her in juvie where, if it's anything like here she'd be out with a slap on the wrist and a fond farewell. I didnt follow this at the time so just going by that one article.

2 girls are being tried for attempted murder...only 1 is being admitted to mental facility...because 1 out of multiple say she's not stable...what about the other girl? She' not being admitted to the facility..
They are children. Don't sentence them to anything, if they are in a mental health unit surely the goal is to improve their mental health, particularly children.
Undetermined amount of time until doctors not judges or politicians, deem her fit to return to society, that may take longer than those 40 years, just don't sentence her, holy fck.

1. 40 years is execessive in a mental facility.
2. They both did the same crime, they should have the same punishment.
3. If one is proved to be insane, they both are.
4. The court should listen to all medical professionals, not just one

I don't pay for autographs, but IMO, $70 is high for his autograph. I've seen bigger stars charge less here in New York. But some stars will only sign certain items, so if he's a favorite of yours, and if he's willing to sign the keychain, it might be worth it to you.

I watched the "20/20" episode about this a few hours ago, and it made me think of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. It made me wonder if they're faking being crazy to avoid prison.
It's a long term in the psych ward, but try to put yourself in the victim's and her family's place. What sentence do you think they would want those girls to get for trying to kill their friend who trusted them? They admitted that they were plotting it for months, and that they feel no remorse.

According to "20/20", both girls are going to the mental facility. One got 25 years, and the other got 40 years, but they can both be re-evaluated and released early.

Yeah, the juggling of the bottles was probably the best part of the movie. For me, it's the kind of movie I like to have on in the background while I'm rummaging through the refrigerator and can only hear and see parts of the movie. :)
And is it because Bryan Brown's a fellow Aussie the reason that he made you cringe in Cocktail? I mean, I like the guy in most stuff, not so much in this movie. I really liked him in Beautiful Kate, directed by his wife, Rachel Ward. The subject matter was a bit uncomfortable but it was somehow still touching. If you haven't seen it, you ought to.
