The closest I would have came to being married was a girl who looks exactly like Shannon Doherty, except with red hair, prettier, more busty, maybe shorter.. I tried to find her with red hair, this is the best I came up with.

This is random but my mother seems to be getting more and more religious as she gets older. And of course, I don't mind it, it makes her happy but she keeps sending me pictures of Mary and Jesus and she sends me hymns and the latest thing is she asked me to go to church on Sundays and pray for her. I'm not a Christian and she knows it and she has never been this way with me but I also have always had a great relationship with my mother and I don't want to upset her? Sorry for rambling.

I put this in the wrong category.. I've done this before. It was the "Movie about your life" - no big deal... One problem is I check "New Posts" and then for everything I like, I create a new tab, and things can get hectic.

The pictures and things I would just ignore. It's not like you actually have to look at them. I'd come to some sort of compromise with her. Maybe go to church once a month or on special occasions, but in return she can't hound you about religion all the time.

Anyone watching the Snooker? Rodent or Daniel maybe? I've only caught the highlights so far but it is turning out to be a pretty mad tournament. Hoping Higgins wins as you could probably imagine, he is my favourite player and i've met him multiple times. My dad plays snooker at the place he sometimes trains. Doubt he will though he hasn't looked like he could win another world title since he last won in 2011, my only hope for him reaching the final is that he is playing Alan McManus who is playing amazing for his age but i am pretty confident Higgins will beat him even though it is only 5-3 right now. Also because i think Ding will beat Williams and he hasn't been on the best of form lately as well as the fact that he has never done well at the World Championship. Still believe Selby will most likely win, but Fu is looking great too.

Yeah watched the majority of it, although disappointed that both Ronnie and Trump are out though. Not seen much of McManus before but I thought he was playing really well, Ding I thought was really impressive against Trump and he smashed Mark Williams. So Sexy, Chucky vs. Leprechaun? As franchises and characters.

I think it's no contest - Chucky is far superior. As a character he is hilariously evil. As a franchise, it maintains the horror elements but always feels like it is having fun. I can't say the same about the Leprechaun character or series. Leprechaun the character is a bit of a bore to me, and the series itself seems to forego horror for stupid slapstick humor - it feels like its trying to be "funny" without ever actually being funny. I mean, compared to Leprechaun, the Chucky series feels downright inspired. I don't even hate the Leprechaun series - I can watch them - but they don't hold a candle to the awesomeness of the Chuck, to me.

I like the original trilogy - the first three Child's Play movies - more than the Jennifer Tilly movies. Bride was really good, but Seed.... Seed doesn't live very well in my memory. And Curse of Chucky was okay, maybe even better than okay, but I have no interest in seeing it again.

I think Chucky was kinda ruined starting in Bride of Chucky. It got way too campy. Chucky's charm in the first three movies was that, although he was a doll and dolls shouldn't be scary, he was a mean, merciless, foul mouthed bastard. But giving Chucky a family diminished his power. I kinda don't like thinking about Jennifer Tilly when it comes to Chucky. She probably should have just been in Bride of Chucky.... and not in any of the other ones.

I mean, they're just fun. I can't analyze a Chucky movie and comment on the profundity of it, because that doesn't exist. I mean, for Pete's sake, the whole mythology makes no godd*mn sense! My friend and I were constantly asking each other why the f*ck certain things were allowed to happen. But damn if they're not a blast, and sh*t if Chucky isn't an awesome little f*cker. He's great. The Hood movies in the Leprechaun series sucked. The outer space (part 4) movie was disappointing. Even the first Leprechaun movie isn't all that. I remember an old man getting mad at me and telling me to get off his driveway. I used to use the driveways to making jumps on my bike, and certain driveways, at the edges, had a good slope, and when he said that I thought what a jerk.

Now, when I hear a door knock without expecting it, I feel that same anger... Once, I was recording, and a religious fundamentalist knocked, and it messed up my recording, as the mic picked it up. Once, I was watching a movie, and one of those business fundamentalists (energy plan consolidators?) interrupted. At first I tried to be nice, then I just said "Never knock on this door".... I guess I like my security. I don't even like when my next door neighbor knocks - which is why I gave her my secondary minute phone number.

I had the Jehovah's Witnesses coming all the time, waking me up, showing up almost every weekend, etc.
I've been "plagued" by them since I moved (that was about 8 years ago).

I read that one way to deal with it is to request to their face that they take you off their visitation list (it seems that once they encounter a polite, civil or respectful person at home, that person goes on a list.)

So two men showed up (it was usually the same two women), so I politely made the request to the men - they said no problem.
A week later the usual two ladies showed up. I, slightly more sternly, explained that I requested to the men that I be taken off their visitation list. They had a few questions as to why (I guess because I'd been nice to them in the past) so I honestly explained that I'm on a different schedule and they wake me up with their morning visits.

That was about a year and a half ago, and they haven't been back since.

At age 18 you learn the great secret that is never revealed to children... that adults are just as scared, ignorant, clueless and unsure what to do with their lives as children are.

We really can't let children know the truth because it would make them more insecure than they already are... and if they spend their childhood feeling vulnerable, unprotected and totally insecure then they'd grow up to be scared, ignorant, clueless and unsure what to do with their lives.

I had a good night yesterday. I had gone almost a year without talking to a great friend of mine. I've been all over the world, but my musical "match" was right here in Flint. He's done a few really stupid things in public (a birthday party, night after a concert in Chicago), and after hanging out again, he flaked out on a standup event I paid for. He wouldn't even let me know he wasn't going to come.

The crazy thing is that I was the one to call him, usually after a music event (usually a death).. We used to always joke around with Prince's "When Doves Cry" - we would insert another former mutual friend "Sit if you will on Jon _______'s stomach" - and that 4 note beat would remind and bring laughter. Finally, that was the voice mail I left that got a response.

We talked for 2 hours yesterday, mostly about music and life. He kinda apologized, said he was sick of everything, so I just "swept it under the rug" and then "ah forget it" - though I still wanna know why he wouldn't at least say he didn't wanna go anymore so I could find someone to go with, but I found a girl from Germany in Detroit, and if he keeps his word, we'll hang out today.

GF drunk dialed me at 1 am rehashing every fight we've ever had.
That wasn't fun. She hates the fact that one of my ex gf's was a stripper.

I'm supposed to drive up to boston and see her on thursday.. she gets really emotional when she's drunk and she falls down a lot.

matt72582
05-03-16, 08:56 AM
Wow, speaking of falling down a lot ---- About 6 or so I went to pick up a friend I haven't talked with in months. He lives only a couple miles away, and my place is a better place to hang out. Played music, talked music, life, etc... I can handle "partying" - I'm always in control, can always drive, etc.., but he drinks so much, and then he'd add Xanax to that.. He was definitely ***********. He wanted to smoke a cigarette, but he was being too loud outside, so I thought let's go for a walk. There was a strip club right down the road he wanted to go to, I laughed and said "Why Not" - better than puking in my house! Halfway there he wanted to go back.. He was stumbling, then fell pretty hard on the grass, luckily a tiny mark on his face. It felt like I was carrying him at times. So he says he should go home. I go inside and get EVERYTHING of his. We get to his house and he says he forgot his phone on my couch, which was impossible, but how can you argue with someone so intoxicated, so I drove back. He found it in his coat.. Drove back there, and he put in the CD I burned him, stuff he didn't know (the stuff I've probably mentioned here - music from other countries from the 60s and 70s) but after a few songs, he had to call it a night. He apologized for flaking out a few times, not calling me back - I had fun, but would have liked our first hangout in a long time to be more sobering.

MM has been gone for almost three weeks. He left right after he took crap for hating on Saving Private Ryan. That may or may not have contributed to him leaving? Like Sean said, MM was dealing with some heady stuff and MM had posted that he was stressed out and couldn't focus on watching movies.

I've begun to worry about him. I PM'd him a week ago, I never did get a reply. I hope he's OK.

Yeah, sometimes life just gets in the way. I know with all the stress I was going through I just didn't have the energy or head space to be on here.

Now I planned to be pretty active, but I keep hanging out with my Milhouse and haven't been on as much as I wanted.

I hate doctors. I really, really, REALLY hate doctors.

Last Friday I had an appointment with mine. A couple of days before the appointment, I noticed that my urine was dark and cloudy. Since I already had an appointment, I brought it up to my doctor then and she ordered a urinalysis and culture. I submitted a sample that day.

I work in a vet clinic, so I know that culture results take a few days so I tried not to be impatient. Still, it'd been longer than it should have been and I hadn't heard anything so I called yesterday and left a message asking about the results. The doctor never called back. The test results were posted online as of this morning and showed that there were white blood cells in it, which indicate infection - but no instructions and still no call. I called the office again and demanded that the doctor call back a.s.a.p. I finally heard from her - now six days after submitting the sample with no treatment in the meantime - and what does she have to say?

"Your results indicate that there is an infection. Would you like me to prescribe an antibiotic?"

Would I like an antibiotic for my infection? Excuse me? No, Doc, I want you to continue to do NOTHING about my infection, like you have for the past week already. I just like pissing in cups. I get a kick out of it. I also am not at all concerned about the possibility of the infection spreading to my kidneys, because, really, who needs healthy kidneys anyway, right?

I can't stand when you hear nothing... I took a liver and diabetes test, and I heard nothing, so I finally called. Before the secretary even talked to anyone, she told me "If something was wrong, they'd call you."

I don't know how long this takes - I'm just supposed to wait and wait? Couldn't it be easier to take 5 seconds to say something?

I've had 2 doctors, and they have both been horrible. Very elitist, talking over me, listening without concern..

I don't think so. Usually when this happens my face just gets really itchy for 3 or 4 days and then it goes away. It is very annoying. I went to the hospital once and the doctor said "You're having an allergic reaction." So I said to him, "Yeah, no sh*t, I can see that." But he didn't know what was causing it... I suppose I could go to a private clinic but I am just not bothered.

That's a bummer dude, but glad it is only temporary.

Shipping is so ridiculous here. One time my mother wanted me to buy her lipstick and it was a website that was shipping from the USA. The lipstick cost around 15 or 20 dollars and the shipping was around 100 dollars.

That makes sense but I don't think that is the cause. I wash my own pillowcases and have not used anything different. :(

Sometimes I think it might be food but again... I haven't eaten anything unusual recently.
Might just be worth trying changing to a non-bio if you do use a biological powder though - our hotel in Vegas said they had always used the same powder and she had never been allergic on previous trips so sometimes the body does seemingly just decide to change at random

Amazon is not as bad. But I have to go to Aramex every time I buy something to pick it up. I don't have a car so I have to get a friend to drive me or go by taxi. It's very inconvenient.

Basically biological detergents contain extra enzymes (that aren't present in non-biological detergents) to help break down stains - that's all the difference is really.

Hope you do eventually get to the bottom of whatever the cause is!

He was making a joke based on the bad rap philosophy majors get. People forget that education is (or should be) about intellectual growth first and foremost, and think a college degree is all about getting a job. I think that's BS.

I'm not sure. To be honest before today I was only really familiar with "None Shall Pass". Got Labor Days today and spent a lot of the day listening to it, to prepare for the concert. Really dug it. Then saw the show. Was absolutely incredible, and officially made me a fan of his.

The only songs I knew in the setlist were the two he ended with - "Daylight" and "None Shall Pass".

Never heard of any of those bands. I am admittedly not the expert of metal you seem to me to be, as much as I like the genre. I was actually thinking of those bands you nominated for Zotis tournament... I couldn't remember their names, or I would have looked for them.

I finally finished my 2nd album... It'll be on Amazon in a week or two.. Took me almost three years after the last CD - I was up all night doing all the publishing stuff, titles, descriptions, putting them in order, designing the artwork.

I play at least 10-15 instruments.. I don't use a computer or any programs. I have a built-in CD player. I just use one microphone.

But it's never finished. Like with every publications, I'm going to get it at the Flint Public Library, have a CD signing, etc.. Then there's the wait and see who supports you part.

What does everyone think about this idea for a Countdown?

The MoFo 100 Guilty Pleasures Countdown

The idea is that it's a countdown -- and since it's my idea, it's a Sexy Celebrity countdown, which means IDEALLY it wouldn't take a long time to do -- but it's not one where you have to watch a bunch of movies and eventually send in a list of 25 films.

You would just have to send in ONE movie that you consider a "guilty pleasure" of yours. And you could send in a little write-up about it that will be posted when the movie is revealed during the countdown.

100 different MoFos could send in one movie to be included in this countdown. Every movie has to be different. And hopefully the powers-that-be make this an official list you can check off. I figure it's a way people could get at least one movie they love onto an official MoFo list. A movie that might not otherwise make such a list in any other way. You just have to pick a movie and call it your "guilty pleasure" movie. It doesn't necessarily have to be a bad movie... it could be anything.... but PREFERABLY it's something not already on a list and it's something you really love.

How I would present this countdown after I've received 100 different movies.... not 100% decided on that. It could be presented in the order I received them (first one is #1, last movie is #100). It could be in alphabetical order by movie title. Whatever. It just wouldn't, of course, be ranked by points because it's a different kind of countdown.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure I'd wanna do it... but I had this idea and thought I'd get it out there. If I don't do it, someone else could, if people like it.
