As for your rant, it's an unfortunate natural need for humans to label and identity people. Gay people do this, lesbians like dogs, hipsters wear this and listen to that, boys wear blue girls wear pink and so on and on. We do it to ourselves too. People tend to mimic those around them by dressing like, having the same speech mannerisms, listening to the same music and having the same interests. It's a way of saying to the world "This where I belong. I have a group and a place in society. I am accepted."

I've been told all my life I like boy things. Why do they belong to boys? Why can't I be a girl that likes to climb trees and not have to be a tomboy? Why do I get stuck with the dumb romance movies?

It could have been a decent commentary on the current culture of the younger generation, partying and living like a free spirit whilst you can, but I think in the end its way to over indulgent and self obsessed with being stylish and cool that it becomes repetitive. There are a few iconic images that work as an idea, but as a whole it's quite boring and I can't really remember much about it.

Sounds good. When my lads moved out I still helped them with a bit of shopping now and again, and fed them when they came around. You can always move back if it don't work out. Just make sure you visit them lots, they'll be fine. From a parental point of view it does take a bit if getting used to not having your kids around all the time, but after a while it's actually quite nice ;)
