I hope this makes everyone laugh, but my wife and I are watching all the Fast and Furious films in as short a time as possible. I know they're absolutely terrible, but they have a certain stupid charm about them. It's like laughing at macho frat boys being bros. :D

Sounds like you are afraid to say that you enjoy them. There isn't anything wrong with that it's not like we will think less of you. I'm a huge fan of the F&F-movies myself, and I'm proud to say so. Yes they are stupid at times and mainly dumb fun, but no need to excuse yourself for watching them or whatever! :D

It's indeed brilliant. Ozu is such an incredible director. His style truly is a cinematic revelation to me. I've only seen two of his films yet and they're most probably both going to be on my '60s list.
I want to explore him slowly, though. His films are too special for mass consumption.

I watched all Miyazaki film's in 1 month after discovering him same for Tarkovsky. :D Ozu I watched about 10 of his (all in 2012 and early 2013, during my "film buff phase"). I think I might have included some Ozu in the 60's list I submitted.

I'm not sure "enjoy" is the right word. The stunts are sometimes great, but the stories are laughable at best. I feel like I'm on the outside of pop culture by not watching them. It's the most successful franchise that's not based on any prior material and that kind of blows my mind.

That you have to deal with ANOTHER film consisting of "various shorts set to contemporary music"... Did Disney think they had found Gold with this technique or what?

If you like Jane Austen I'm sure you will enjoy it. Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion are my favorites.
If I have time I'll be watching Evil Dead II, I hated the first one so wish me luck. I like to have an open mind before watching any film but I highly doubt I'll like this, I can't see it being much different to the first if I'm honest but let's hope I'm wrong.

I've heard that's where the real innovation and surprise comes from it. I probably won't watch it until I can see it in 3D, whether it's playing somewhere or I can find something capable of playing the 3D file I have on my computer.

Yeah I find 3D to be generally gimmicky and dulling to the colors of a film, but I'm sure JLG's very eccentric way of thinking is more than just a gimmick, and I think he's one of the best in his use of color. You have a 3D TV available? I know where you can get a digital 3D version of the movie (among many other hard to get films), but it's not so simple as sending you a link so PM me if you're interested.

But cool you are getting into movies! In relation to your selection, it really depends on which mood you're in. :)

I'm a bit wary on going back to this series. I've only watched the first Hobbit, and that was slow and super boring. So here's hoping.

Just got back from the library.. I might watch one of these:
-A Star Is Born
-Dersu Uzala
-Alexander Nevsky
-:Les enfants Du Paradis
-The Long Goodbye (have seen, really like it)
-The Caine Mutiny (also liked this much)
If anyone wants to rank them, recommend one of these for me to watch first, I'd be glad to listen to your opinions;

I kind of expect to like it, since I loved: Requiem for a dream and Black Swan, and really enjoyed The Wrestler. All by Darren Aronofsky.

I've only seen Dersu Uzala from the first 4 and I thought it was excellent.
