Sounds like you are afraid to say that you enjoy them. There isn't anything wrong with that it's not like we will think less of you. I'm a huge fan of the F&F-movies myself, and I'm proud to say so. Yes they are stupid at times and mainly dumb fun, but no need to excuse yourself for watching them or whatever! :D

It's indeed brilliant. Ozu is such an incredible director. His style truly is a cinematic revelation to me. I've only seen two of his films yet and they're most probably both going to be on my '60s list.

I want to explore him slowly, though. His films are too special for mass consumption.

I watched all Miyazaki film's in 1 month after discovering him same for Tarkovsky. :D Ozu I watched about 10 of his (all in 2012 and early 2013, during my "film buff phase"). I think I might have included some Ozu in the 60's list I submitted.

I'm not sure "enjoy" is the right word. The stunts are sometimes great, but the stories are laughable at best. I feel like I'm on the outside of pop culture by not watching them. It's the most successful franchise that's not based on any prior material and that kind of blows my mind.

Never heard of this movie before my friend mentioned it as a super under the radar gem of a film. Very excited to watch--especially because it's billed as a heart-warming, wry comedy.

I saw that you quite liked this. I'd recommend taking a look at Bill Forsyth's filmography. It's short, but you'll probably like most of it.

I've heard that's where the real innovation and surprise comes from it. I probably won't watch it until I can see it in 3D, whether it's playing somewhere or I can find something capable of playing the 3D file I have on my computer.

Yeah I find 3D to be generally gimmicky and dulling to the colors of a film, but I'm sure JLG's very eccentric way of thinking is more than just a gimmick, and I think he's one of the best in his use of color. You have a 3D TV available? I know where you can get a digital 3D version of the movie (among many other hard to get films), but it's not so simple as sending you a link so PM me if you're interested.

Citizen Kane
Panic Room
True Grit (Coen)
The Big Lebowski.

Keep in mind all of these would be first watches. Before you yell at me and give me negative reputation I just got into movies about a year ago and still have quite a few movies that will make you cringe if you find out I haven't seen it. Thanks in advance for the response(s). :)
Kane. I love Taxi Driver and The Big Lebowski way more, two badass movies, you should dive into them anytime soon but considering that you've only started to become a serious film watcher a year ago, to explore deeper worlds of cinema and understand it watching Citizen Kane is a good start. There's so much to learn from it.

So far I've only seen Un Chien Andalou and The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie by Bunuel. This one seems to be something completely different. I'm very curious to see if it'll become one of the many serious contenders for my '60s list!

This is awkward :x. I just finished Taxi Driver, and it was great. I'll make sure to watch Citizen Kane soon, along with the other suggestions people gave. Thank you for the response, Gatsby!

I'm a bit wary on going back to this series. I've only watched the first Hobbit, and that was slow and super boring. So here's hoping.

Just got back from the library.. I might watch one of these:

-A Star Is Born
-Dersu Uzala
-Alexander Nevsky
-:Les enfants Du Paradis

-The Long Goodbye (have seen, really like it)
-The Caine Mutiny (also liked this much)

If anyone wants to rank them, recommend one of these for me to watch first, I'd be glad to listen to your opinions;
