I plan on watching this after I finish the 4 OVA episodes. It's really just to check it off. I should have watched it years ago, but for whatever reason I just never really felt like it. I remember the beginning not really captivating me and turning it off, but I really want to make another go. It looks interesting, and I'm sure whatever reason I didn't think it appealed at first wasn't really warranted.
Trying this again, with the sound turned up really loud.

Going to rewatch:
http://www.movieforums.com/community/attachment.php?attachmentid=18820&stc=1&d=1418558462
Was pretty good fun, but trying to watch it too late last night I just couldn't stay awake. I remember Olivier Gruner jumping off a dam into the cockpit of a Harrier Jump Jet then opening fire on an alien disguised as a Russian military officer... then a DVD menu screen ;)
Depending on time I might also squeeze in:
http://www.movieforums.com/community/attachment.php?attachmentid=18821&stc=1&d=1418558598
Then to balance out all the DTV action, I'm going to appease my wife by finally unwrapping my Blu-ray boxset and re-watching:
http://www.movieforums.com/community/attachment.php?attachmentid=18819&stc=1&d=1418558308
I saw this in the cinema and remember being a little disappointed - I was hoping for more of the gothic Burton-era Batman. With the knowledge that it is quite different in mind, I might enjoy it this time... watch the "last film you saw" thread to find out tomorrow!

I hope you will find O Sangue quite spectacular, from a technical standpoint i at least find it excellent. I can't say so much about the whole filmography of Costa as i have only seen two, but he is certainly a director i want to explore. His newest film, Horse Money, is a bit of a schizophrenic hallucinatory mess based on reconstruction but in a good way. Its my favorite of 2014, but then again i havent seen so much from this year.

No doubt, though I don't remember it being quite as horrific as the stuff in Casino. Then again, I've seen Goodfellas at least a dozen times while I've only seen Casino once, so I'm not sure. If you're that concerned, you can always try looking up the parental guide on IMDb to see if there's anything you might be especially uncomfortable with watching.

Thanks for the info, but I'll deal with it. I expect blood and violence in this type of movie. As long as there's not a spider in the movie, I'm good. :)

When I saw the trailer for this, I never thought that I'd actually watch this film. I thought it would just be another action flick starring Tom Cruise (not that I don't like the guy as an actor). The people who saw it all seem to love it, though, and out of nothing, this has become one of the best reviewed films of the year! Let's see if this film will also be able to win me over.

Personally I thought Cold in July was effortlessly cool and I really liked the characters. It's as if Dexter teamed up with Rust Cohle and Martin Hart and decided to go on a killing spree. I liked Blue Ruin as well, but it looked and felt very indie to me and even the violence looked gratuitous at times.

The reason I ask is, recently they fully restored the black and white version with a digital scan of the negative, which I bought for my wife...it also included a second dvd that was colorized in what was suppose to be a superior technique to the one used by Ted Turner back in the 80s. I guess the color print looked OK, but I prefer glorious B&W

Wong Kar-Wai is one of my favorite directors working today. It's time to see the (full Chinese version of) his latest film. It looks magnificent so I'm very much looking forward to it!

As this was one of the films I reviewed for my website I think I'll make this my next and 3rd review in my Cinema Reviews Thread (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?t=37926). I'll fix it up a bit though, and add something if I discover anything new or interesting doing this rewatch...

Sabrina is one of the few movies that I prefer the remake to the original, but the original is a good movie too.

That looks interesting. I really like Clemence Poesy. She's a terrific actress. And it's nice to see Micheal Cain in a lead role instead of as Batman's butler or something.

Only Yesterday (1991)
This was recommended to me by Guap. I watched the trailer and the first thing I noticed that there is a lot more motion than a typical anime. Even a shot of four people sitting at a table eating dinner was interesting because of how each character was moving differently at the same time. Also I noticed the camera angles and the postures of the characters were very interesting. A lot of animation have their characters set in limited postures and movements that aren't very realistic. This will be my fifth or sixth Miyazaki film.

It's not a Miyazaki film. It's a film by Isao Takahata (the other founder of Studio Ghibli). Only Yesterday is one of my favorite animation films (I also discovered it because of Guap) and it may or may not have made my list. ;)
Hope you enjoy it!
