It's among my top 25 favorite animations (films and series and shorts). I first watched it when I was 13, but I still remembered the individual episodes 11 years later when I rewatched it. A true classic. Hope you enjoy it, it's very accessible for western audiences as well thanks to it's post-modern science fiction western atmosphere. Though it doesn't have the emotional power of the more "hardcore" stuff, it's entertainment value is on a league of it's own.

It's near and dear to me. I grew up in the late 60's early 70's. So rich with nostalgia for a person my age.

It's probably one of Soderbergh's most 'disliked' films by critics AND audiences, but somehow I want to give this a chance. Soderbergh himself still considers this one of his personal best, but just felt that it was very misunderstood. Maybe I'll like it.

The Life of Jesus (1997) by Bruno Dumont
Im continuing my Dumont watching spree with his debut from 1997. From what i have seen so far i think he might be the best / most interesting director from France at the moment. Although he is in pretty sharp competition with Claire Denis and Olivier Assayas. Anyway im having a blast watching his films.
Import/Export (2007) by Ulrich Seidl
I loved Hundstage from 2001 and thought that the Paradise trilogy was pretty good. This one was recommended at a danish forum, so im giving it a try.

Im not expecting it to be on par with Raging Bull, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas though im still expecting a good solid movie from Marty.

I just finished watching a film I was supposed to love. It was a sci-fi film. The thing is I hated it. I loved other film of this director and couldn't even finish another one. What movie and director is it? I will write about it soon in Movie Tab II
Since I hated a film I should love it would be hilarious if I loved a movie I shouldn't like. The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is a musical - a genre I'm not too keen on, but it has Catherine Deneuve and is highly regarded everywhere I go, so I give it a chance!

Witness for the Prosecution is a remarkable film.

I rated Witness for the Prosecution 4.5
That jump on the bed in this shack was one of the most hilarious moments of cinema I ever witnessed.
Nah guys, TokeZa is right, Hunger wasn't bad, Shame was poop.
My first impression is that 12 Years a Slave is by far his worst film. It was a chore to sit trough. A certified Hollywood Turd.
I rather rewatch Pacific Rim than watch this again. Even Pain & Gain by Michael Bay is better than that piece of ****.

Pain & Gain has some semblance of self-critique or acknowledgement, something McQueen is in some dire need of.

I'm lost. Can you explain that scene again? Does it involve Tyrone Power and Marlene Dietrich? :)

I have a bad feeling that I will love this and nobody else will vote for it.
There is also the 20th century boys film trilogy based on the manga, which is one of the all time best manga, so the movies cannot be too bad (or not ), haven't watched'en but I think I will: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/20th_Century_Boys

Probably mine too. I know that Jonathan Rosenbaum (who lists Jia's The World as one of his favorite movies of all time) was disappointed in the film, finding it too commercial for Jia. But besides him, the reaction from intelligent critics is extremely positive. I'm waiting for English subs to watch it.
