I read about it first time, a month ago. An instant favorite for me. But of all the cult film lists, etc. i have read through the years, i have not come across it until now.

Watched a cute rom/com/fantasy last night called Palm Springs (2020). That's a tough style of movie to pull off today, but the film held together for me. No big stars, just decent writing. I'd give it 7/10.

Hi. The movie was a pleasant surprise. A teenage girl living in a typical trailer trash/white trash community in Texas, get recruited by Jake ( Shia LaBeouf ), and they travel through the American midwest, and sell magazine subscriptions. And party.
Sometimes i can be a little prejudice just based on the movie cover/title. But it is definitely a good movie.
I would say it is worth it, JennyferMc.

Yes, I really like the film. Would recommend. I’ve seen it about three times and to me, it gets better with each viewing. Very well shot, with a curious yellowish colour scheme. My favourite Ramsay so far.

Wanted to like this more than I actually did. The story was a bit ropey (who cares, it's a horror, right? :)) but there was not enough tension to make it hang together. It descends far too early into a "survival" pic.

Performances were all solid but the story/intention was askew in my view.

Anyway, right now I'm watching The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and even though I don't think it'll reach top 100 it's still very good.
A great film. One of Huston's best. Bogie was even better than he was in The Caine Mutiny. And it's hard not to smile thinking of Walter Huston's laughing dance. Top 50, maybe top 25 for me.

This weekend i brought home Black Mass and Birdman. Black Mass i really enjoyed the style. And beside Johnny Depps character in the film, i have grown fond of Jesse Plemons the last few years.
With Birdman i feel there is alot i don’t quite remember. Plus i was not aware that Iñárritu Directed it.
But i try and balance it between seen/unseen movies. Some periods i feel like i just want to rewatch old movies. So i try and challange myself a little on that part.

Great Movie! I was lucky enough to tour Alcatraz shortly after the movie was filmed. They remodeled the front entrance to look like new, and other areas were made to look period. But the rest was falling apart. Walls peeling apart, dirty old toilets...just really creepy. Would have made a good horror set. Especially creepy for those of us who volunteered to get shut into solitary in a tiny room with no light for a few minutes. :(

Being locked up in solitary cell, no light, and just that hole in the ground must be hard experience the first times. But now Alcatraz looks pretty well restored for tourism, at least from pictures. I knew about the story, and that they were pretty handy, smart guys.
