Night of the Living Dead
http://www.everyview.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Night-of-the-Living-Dead.jpg

I really want to do Night, but if I do that one, I have to do Dawn tomorrow, and Day the next day, and Land, and Diary (don't like that one, but gotta do it), and Survival, and Night remake, and Dawn remake, and oh no... Day remake. That last one is serious ****, but only watched it once, so I really need to watch it again. 'Cause I'm an idiot like that.

What a pickle. To avoid all that, I'll probably go for Nosferatu.

I actually enjoyed spring breakers as well, by no means was it a great movie, but it turned out to be much better then what I was expecting. It kind of took the spring break theme in a more serious light, and spoke to it as an idea of rightfully indulging in excesses, but led the characters wanting to taste more of a life lived strictly on primal indulgences, free from the preordained path life has chosen for them and walls in which society has placed around their destiny. And yes, the cinematography was done very well.

That's a bit of a shift in tone over one of the worst movies of all time.

I would seriously say that found it to be fairly average but not very good. It has some atmosphere and was interesting at times, boring at other times.

I was being sarcastic when I named it one of the worst films ever. Spiders II is much worse:

The movie I'm watching tonight is "The King's Speech" by Tom Hooper featuring Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush.

It is a historical drama based on the life of King George VI.

King George VI had a strong stammer. It was really annoying because of his King function which includes a lot of speechs to give. He saw a lot of specialists in order to cure his stammer. None of them managed to help him. His wife decided to contact an australian speech therapist with strange methods, called Lionel Logue. In the beginning, the relations between Lionel and the King weren't good at all. But after that, they became good friends and the King's stammering improved a bit. The final task for the King is his first wartime radio broadcast on Britain's declaration of war on Germany.

I think this a really good movie. Sometimes it is very funny, but it can be very touching also. The actors are very impressive by their simplicity but also their strength. There are perfect illustrations of real human mind. I have been particularly impressed by Geoffrey Rush, who I was used to see in commercial movies like Pirates of the Carribean. I really recommend this movie!

Papusza (2013) by Joanna Kos-Krauze, Krzysztof Krauze

Im going to the East by Southeast filmfestival to watch Papusza, with introduction by the directors. Its a polish biopic about Bronisława Wajs, a Romani poet. It has been described as a visual masterpiece in B/W, so naturally my expectations are pretty high.

Les Enfants Terribles (1950) by Jean-Pierre Melville

After Papusza im trying to see if can catch Les Enfants Terribles. Its based on the novel by Jean Cocteau and directed by Jean-Pierre Melville, so my hopes are pretty high for this psycological drama.

It is FINALLY time to watch my first Kurosawa film (I know, it should have happened much sooner). This Kurosawa picture attracts me the most, so hopefully it will impress me and I'll be encouraged to see many other movies of this Japanese legend.

Woah. Big guns indeed. The Thing is such an incredible horror film. They don't make em' like they used to.

The Thing really is a wonderfully done film. Only a couple horror movies top it in my mind.

Man, now I kind of want to watch it.

Great, so my DVD of Dawn of the Dead won't play on my computer.

Oh well, on to plan B

I actually like Night of the Living Dead even more than I like The Thing. But, I do have a soft spot for zombies.

Woah. Big guns indeed. The Thing is such an incredible horror film. They don't make em' like they used to.
I need to watch these movies from time to time. I need to. I am... addicted...
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/63/Dawn_of_the_dead.jpg
Great, so my DVD of Dawn of the Dead won't play on my computer.
That's harsh, man. If I had decided to watch one of the zombie flicks and I hadn't been able to, I would've freaked out. I would've killed someone, and eaten my own arm. I'm not exaggerating, I've done it before.

Plan B wasn't too shabby though.
The Thing really is a wonderfully done film. Only a couple horror movies top it in my mind.

Man, now I kind of want to watch it.
I actually like Night of the Living Dead even more than I like The Thing. But, I do have a soft spot for zombies.
Me too. Romero's zombie flicks could replace 4 places in my favorite movies list. I just love them.

Thing's definitely great too. Too bad kids nowadays will mostly know that remake/prequel ********.

K, so I'll have to do the zombie round these couple of weeks. But right this second, I'm gonna rewatch

American Psycho

cause I'm a sucker for these horrible, horribly hilarious characters.

Good choice!

Broken Flowers (2005)

It's my first Jim Jarmusch film, so I'm very curious! If I like it, I will probably be very eager to watch some of his older work. If anyone has a "Jarmusch recommendation", don't be afraid to let me know!

I do too. I saw Night of the Living Dead for the first time on Thanksgiving night, nearly two years ago. I think it became my #1 favorite movie for several weeks after that.

Regarding the The Thing prequel, I did see it, but I can't remember it. Huh. Must'nt've been very good.

Let's see how this Cronenberg '80s classic will affect me.

Night On Earth (1991)

Mark and Donnie both recommended this one, so that's enough reason for me to watch it. I'll watch Jarmusch's features from the '80s tomorrow.

It pretty much made sense to me the first time - at least my interpretation. Then I read the experts and their explanation deflated me and the film.

Two-Lane Blacktop seemed cooler upon rewatch, but it is maddeningly slow and seemingly pointless (which is ironically the point).

Chromeskull: Laid to Rest 2

I havent seen the first one but im thinking it doesnt matter. I usually like to watch movies like this when the wife goes to bed. I have to keep the volume a bit low, and with a movie like this, I don't have to hear every word perfectly. Plus it's not like I'm watching something she would want to see.

Mr Nobody... I'm told it's good. Any opinions?

The film imagines three crucial moments in the main character's life (Jared Leto) when he can start a totally different life. The first one coming at age nine when he's given the choice which parent he wants to continue to live with after their divorce, and which one he's going to reject. Loved the cinematic borrows from other films; the Fisher King; Harold and Maude; Little Big Man; Lovers of the Artic circle etc, etc. This was the first time I spotted a really interesting young actress, Juno Temple. A nice mediation on fate and (im)possibility.

I think I tried this when it first came out on VHS but I couldn't get in to it-

One hour photo. I've heard some good things about this movie, and I know it's a rather underrated film. The premise sounds interesting, so i reckon I give the film a shot.

I've really never been interested in this movie, but it's on cable so I'll try it for the hell of it. I do think the director is very talented and I'm a big fan of Hoffman, so I'm hoping for the best-

Caché - been meaning to watch it for ages, gets a lot of praise and looks like something I would really enjoy.

If I have time I will try and watch The Bourne Ultimatum too.
