I'm beginning to have withdrawals, after not having seen a movie in quite a while...
I'll start with a rewatching of 28 Days Later. Hopefully I'll watch at least another movie tonight.

Finally saw The Dark Knight Rises a few days ago. And...I absolutely love it. Not gonna call it better than The Dark Knight (one of my all-time favorite movies), but it was still amazing. The acting, the story, the set-up, the amazing finale, everything was excellent, I thought. People complained that there wasn't enough Batman in the movie, but you have to view the movie as more of a character study of Bruce Wayne than a movie where Batman is wrecking people's ****. I thought Bane was a very badass villain, although his voice at first took A LOT of getting used to. Anne Hathaway as Catwoman was awesome. I thought the plot felt more like it belonged after Batman Begins and before The Dark Knight, but even still I enjoyed it for what it was. Fantastic film altogether, and I can't really understand the hate some people have for it.

Personally I was disappointed.Visually it looks great and Prohibition era seems to be recreated well but I wasn't pleased with acting and with the plot.It is also quiet cruel and violent, although some violence scenes looked very nice.

Some of that old-time propaganda. Even when he made films based on exaggerations of success, Dovzhenko made them with a stark beauty fitting of one of the most beautiful revolutions. It's in my top 10 now.

It seemed to me like it couldn't lose, given the cast, but I fell asleep about an hour into it. The acting was well done, the story line is intriguing... it just moved a bit slowly. I'll probably give it another try sometime when it's not so late in the evening.

Not being able to get into some films doesn't mean you enjoy the whole world of cinema any less than someone who can get into any film. I don't connect with every film, I try to complete every single one, and I do complete 19/20. But some you just dont have to force yourself into. No matter how acclaimed they are. Loving some movie and hating some, is the beauty of film to me. If I loved and got into every movie, how intresting would it really be?
Mr Minio

The funny thing is I like or love nearly every movie I'm watching. Perhaps it's because I am very picky when it comes to choosing films to watch. I try to avoid comedies or new horror flicks, as they might be pretty bad.

Clerks, Sexy Beast, or The Long Goodbye
@Thomas I haven't seen the others but Touch of Evil is brilliance in a movie.
So tonight I'll finish In The Mood for Love. Might as well. The Malle film I'm planning hasn't come in the mail yet so instead ill probably be going with something on Netflix Instant.
Clerks, Sexy Beast, or The Long Goodbye
More good choices. Clerks is one of my favorite American 90s films, next to Mallrats. Which Malle film?

It's great. Miles Davis did the soundtrack while watching a private showing.
Gonna watch Blade Runner on Blue ray. This will be the 99999 time that I shall see it yet something tells me I'm gonna enjoy it a whole lot despite having seen it so many times. It just never gets old.
I also read the book for the first time not so long ago so it should be interesting.
Girlfriend vetoed watching The Kid, so we ended up watching the first 20 minutes of this terrible film about a gay waiter who bets he can seduce a mormon missionary. Seriously, horrific acting by everyone, except the Mormon missionary, he was really good at acting awkward.
Going to try to watch The Kid tonight.

Watched Texas Killing Fields (2011). In fact, bought it sight-unseen at a discount and I rarely do that with movies I haven't seen on cable or at the cinema. I've been wanting to see this for a while and had heard it was disappointing, but I didn't think so after watching. I mean, a movie with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Sam Worthington, Jessica Chastain, and Chloe-Grace Moretz can't be that bad and it isn't. It's pretty cracking!

You will not/should not be disappointed. I really enjoyed the musical scenes (mostly because I'm a rabid Bjork fan) they really helped bring out the joy in an otherwise miserable life. I found a copy of Legend of Boggy Creek today, I heard it was pretty good. Its supposedly based on a true story about a Sasquatch.
Two Women turned out to be a let down. The color and some of the shots are interesting, for instance, there's a tracking shot of a construction site that looks quite impressive, but the dialogue is corny.
Rust and Bone was great. I don't know what else to say. Engaging life drama, the kind you would watch on Lifetime scenario-wise, but filled with stunning frames. Whoever the DP or Cinematographer is, they deserve an award.

Just finished Law Abiding Citizen, I am trying to find another movie right now. Kind of leaning towards Seal Team Six or Man on a Ledge.

I was thinking of upping my Millennium List percentage. My mom has Good Night And Good Luck, Sideways and Traffic in her collection, I'm considering one of those but they all just look so unappealing. I could've sworn she had Mulholland Drive as well, but I can't find it.

If you have Netflix, Mulholland Dr. is on there. I'd say Sideways was the best of those three, but only if you're in the right mood. It's a depressing portrait of a midlife crisis. Though I'm not sure there's another way to paint a midlife crisis.
