I rented David Mamet's "Homicide" - I have until Friday to return it back. Though I've been disappointed with Scorsese lately, I want to give one of the films of his I have never saw, "After Hours"

My VHS player isn't working real well, as I have tons of VHS to watch that I've rented, or bought at 2nd hand stores.

I started watching "The Wedding" by Altman, but nothing was happening at all during the first 30 minutes, just a bunch of silly stuff. And when I saw Geraldine Chaplin (who I still can't stand maybe because of her pretentious character in Nashville) become distracted after something significant happens, I thought, "I have 20 movies here, I'm watching something better" --- but I might watch "Kansas City". I love Robert Altman, two of his films make my Top 10, but he's very hit and miss for me. I have "Cookie's Fortune" lying around as well...

Science Fiction isn't my favorite genre but I found this to be very intriguing, suspenseful, and entertaining. The female lead was amazing. I hope the anticipated sequel happens.

From the same director of K-On!, now a teenager romance movie, looks cute! The animation alone is my reason for watching it. The trailer looks very "hollywoodish", but indeed, like K-On!, it's a hollywood styled but animated film (in the case of K-On!, in a genre that doesn't exist in hollywood).

I was bound to check it out eventually. Leaving all expectations or preconceptions at the door and hoping for this to be a good sci-fi film. If Nolan can make this film merely "good" then I will be satisfied. The world needs more ambitious sci-fi.

I was thinking about "Do The Right Thing" but I saw a preview of it on a documentary on film, and it looked like I wouldn't like it.

I'm a tad disappointed in some MoFos for not finishing movies they barely start or letting some small moment they see somewhere dissuade them from seeing a certain significant movie. Do the Right Thing is messy and opens up cans of racist worms, but it's well-worth seeing and discussing. It's more alive and real in its hyper fantasyland than most movies. MoFos should embrace the film even if it's out of their comfort zone or they hate Spike Lee's guts. Hell, you can hate the film too, but that should come after you watch it. Fight the Power!

It was this part of describing different ethnic groups..

Jello-eating, donut sucking, money grubbing, _________, _______, etc etc... - I still have it, but the only Spike Lee I liked was Malcolm X, but not a film I'd see again.

The films on race I like are the ones that are more than gimmicks and things that tickle an audience... "Home of the Brave" is a great picture about the problems of a black man in the modern day.. That was 1954, haven't seen anything really close.

But, I will watch the film.. Maybe even tonight if the MSU game isn't on too long.

The Punisher - The one with Thomas Jane and John Travolta. A cool if somewhat flawed movie. It's good for what it is, and Thomas Jane makes a damn fine Frank Castle, I hope that since Marvel now has the rights to the character back, they do something with him, and bring Thomas Jane back. The sequel without him was hideous.

It was very good. A couple of things stopped me really loving it - it was a bit long and i had trouble keeping track of all the characters and how they related to each other. Still, really well acted and i still can't get over how amazing Isabelle Adjani looked considering she was 40 when it was made :)
