Watching Monster squad right now. It is really good. I would put it in a similar category to Lost Boys, Goonies, Explorers, Burbs and Gremlins except the acting isn't quite as good, and it is lower budget than the films I mentioned. Might put on Changeling after if I don't fall asleep first.

There is a local digital channel here that sometimes shows some excellent films, I think it is either owned by or aphilliated with MGM. I've 'd.v.r.'ed two films off this channel and I'm going to watch them during the weekend. One is the old classic 'On the Beach' and the other is a horror/thriller I've never heard of with a very young Jodie Foster and Martin Sheen called 'The Little Girl who lives down the Lane'. Atleast with the dvr I can zoom through commercials.

It has been a few years since I'd seen this film. I remember it being often difficult to watch, the film starts downhill and only goes further down, akin to '21grams' I suppose. A prime example of self-annihilation, which would make a great Baker's Dozen theme. :)

Watched some brilliant horror films lately that are all HIGHLY RECOMENDED!

- Curse Of Frankenstein - Picked up the new blu-ray release and absolutely love it. One of the greatest Hammer films of all time (and VERY important in British Horror cinema history) which looks better than ever. Probably one of the best Frankenstein films too.

- We Are The Night - A great vampire film, full of sexy vamp ladies and plenty of gore. These vampires are anything but glittery!

- Apartment 143 - Imagine Paranormal Activity, but even more intense! The film takes the haunted house movie and brings it into a typical block of flats. This one is really quite scary!

- Halloween 4 & 5 - These have just been re-released on Blu-ray from Anchor Bay so I had to pick them up! Two great sequels to probably the most important and well known slasher film of all time. Michael Myers is on top form here killing everything! The blus look brilliant and contain some very cool special features too.

Let's take a look at what I've watched yesterday, today, and yet tonight

Married Life- 6/10 Overall cheesy film, but it has the McAdams factor for me to somewhat enjoy it.

V for Vendetta- 9/10 Whilst I do love the film, I was off about 3 days in watching it. Remember remember the 5th of November!

Spirited Away- 9/10 Very pleasantly surprised. Probably one of the imaginative if not the most imaginative film that I have ever seen. Much better than Alice in Wonderland, and if you don't like anime I'd still suggest watching it.

Leaving Las Vegas- 7/10 Watched in order to continue my quest of watching all acting oscar winners. The performances were great, particularly Shue though Cage probably warrants his oscar. Depressing but yet a solid film.

Skyfall tonight! And in between watching Destry Rides Again

Agreed. I was distinctly underwhelmed by The Raid which is really just an endless martial arts showcase full of unappealing characters, and not much else. I was seriously losing interest after the initial hall shootout with the S.W.A.T. team, and it turned into scene after scene of one man fighting twenty to thirty guys at a time. Then two guys fighting one really tough guy. For all the fan boy word of mouth it received I can't believe how average and derivative The Raid actually is. The fights are well staged if that's your thing, but that's it.

Yes I'm biased but I'd take Dredd with all it's flaws over The Raid any day. Edgy, funny, effortlessly cooler and definitely no more cliched or lacking in tension in my opinion.

This film reminds me of a film I barely remember from childhood, maybe Looker with Finney? Don't know? Something with pretty women, a stung gun freezing people momentarily, and music something like Halloween 3 above, though not creepy. I don't know what that film is?

^ That's a rather decent horror/thriller film. Beautifully shot.

I can't remember much of it at the moment so I might be wrong but from what I can remember you are correct in the fact that it's beautifully shot, we see that in the first half and I thought it was going well then it kind of reverts to a more quicker-paced formula action film and turns into a bit of a mess at the end, need to watch it again perhaps.

My wife fell asleep after about 25 minutes so I shut it off. She was just tired and stoned as we were both enjoying it. We will resume tomorrow night.

I watched it tonight, as it's been a long, long time ago since I watched it.

I remember him on Monk, though I didn't know he was the pycho. Hopefully he got credited for that role, as he was fantastic. Everything was about Anthony and Jodie, such credit has to go to him!

Pretty good movie, but I've seen better Korean flicks. ;)
