Barbarella (1968)

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BDGGtAIUsVQ/SYYN86eBOgI/AAAAAAAAFM4/6XLCc658yp0/s400/Barbarella.jpg

This cult classic looks pretty gorgeous on first sight. I'm sure the story will be quite absurd and even ridiculous, but I just HAVE to see this. The opening sequence is also pretty awesome (I saw it once in an opening sequence compilation and immediately loved it).

Spaceballs (1987)

http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060520005228/starwars/images/c/c6/Spaceballs_DVD_cover.jpg

It honestly looks a little too much as a PURE parody on Star Wars, but it's Mel Brooks, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

It looks like I'll have some fun in space tonight!

Not a fan of Spaceballs personally. I do really like Brooks though, i loved his most popular films Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein but i've still got to see The Producers. I also think i'm one of the few people who loved Dracula: Dead and Loving It.

The first three were absolutely fantastic, finishing Sydney's story. The fourth, in my opinion was only completed to make some more money. Good though, but feels like an oddball.

Yeah, the first one was very tame in comparison to the second one. The first one was just sick because of the concept itself, they're wasn't too many cringe worthy moments. The sequel has plenty of those.

Apparently, the third one's going to have a centipede of five hundred people. The more the merrier, I guess.

I was planning to watch the first piece to The Godfather trilogy today while I was in the hospital. I have to spend two-hours each visit, so with a laptop, I've been making the most of it. I've watched Scarface, Up, and Darkman so far. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my headphones with me today, and don't feel comfortable about the idea of watching Godfather sitting in a chair alongside a bunch of old-folk. Not to mention, it'd be rude. I have to come back later today though for another I.V. but I'll be watching a movie with my mom. It'll probably be Wall.E.

Nonetheless, I still have three more two-hour sessions by myself over the next three-days so I'll probably watch the entire Godfather trilogy.

I like the few films I've already seen from Steven Soderbergh. He's a very gifted director. It's time to explore his filmography a little more and his very succesful film debut seems like a good start.

That's my favorite movie of his.

I was one of the ones blown away by this film. It's pretty great IMO, although you could easily go ahead and call it the most pretentious, boring thing ever made. For me, it was great. Has a lot in common with another Malick movie, The Thin Red Line. A lot in common.

One of Wong Kar-Wai's more dated affairs, the music mostly stands out as period. It's still great and of course has WKW and Chris Doyle's brilliant color scheming and interesting speed ups and slow downs. It's even better if you've already seen Chungking Express. Plus it's really freaking cool!

I think what he means is was it from 1951, 1982, or 2011?

Silent Movie (1976)

This looks like a movie I will very much enjoy.

Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)

It's on TV this evening, so I figured I could watch it with my sister. Maybe I'll enjoy it.

And if there's any time left:

Carnal Knowledge (1971)

This looks extremely interesting. Mike Nichols directing Jack Nicholson in a psychosexual drama? I can't see myself not liking this.

One of my all time favorites. It would be hard for someone to love it as much as me since I saw it at my first trip to the drive-in when it was out. So it's also somewhat sentimental for me.

Piece of fluff, Playing for Keeps. Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Dennis Quaid, a few other big names. Totally predictable, but a few chuckles. Sometimes these movies can be saved by the performance of a charming young actor, but the kid was just OK.

I just felt like I had to complete the trilogy. Even if I knew it wasnt going to be up to the mark of the good Spider-Man 2, and the average Spider-Man.

An interesting choice if you haven't seen many Westerns, considering it's very much an 'epic film' that combines elements of lots of different Western films and that, but its a fantastic film that I hope you enjoy.
