Excuse my ignorance (look at me getting polite in my dotage :p) but is being bonded something to do with waterproofing? Like Araldite or something? It's really only a bit of hoovering and dusting I need doing. :D
Is the insurance something to do with harrassment lawsuits? I'm very mindful of that and will in no way let any cleaner harrass me. ;)
Aaaanyway, I'm off to take a shower sitting down. This should be ... interesting...
in addition to her fling with Sean Connery, bonded also means she doesn't have a criminal record, nor does anyone under her employ and as such is covered under the insurance policy the company carries.
This is important because, sad to say there are folks that offer in-home services at a discount for the sole purpose of stealing, or taking inventory for a future robbery. The insurance covers accidental damages, like for instance if the cleaner is dusting , and a vase is knocked over and breaks say.
Let's just call it Irish Birthday Party Gone Wild... :p

Haha, Irish Parties don't "go wild", they start off that way.;) Hope you had fun.

Damn. So when I'm saying "Yes dear, see that dirt on the skirting board? Yep, you'll have to bend down to wipe it off" they're actually casing my house?
Actually, I remember my auntie telling me that she came home early one day and found the cleaning lady going through her wardrobe (dresses were laid out on the bed etc) so I can believe that.

Seeing that sentence on its own makes the whole thing seem rather rude but I can assure you that a gravy ring is:

An old boss of mine (an insane Scotsman who had to flee Glasgow because he owed money to the wrong people, apparently, and drank tea constantly) used to use the term 'centre of a doughnut' constantly to refer to what we'd earn if we mucked up.
Of course, with his accent it sounded like 'Centee don't' and it took us ages to figure out what the hell he was going on about. ;)

According to Wiki we call frying oil 'gravy' over here.
Do we bollocks.
Gravy is what we put on spuds. Ain't tried it with rice, to be honest - Is it the same sort of gravy that you put on your potatoes?
Now, rice and peas I've had and that's lovely. There used to be a fantastic West Indian takeaway round the corner from where I worked and we'd often get lunch there.

I'm actually really depressed, can't sleep and overwhelmed.... this weekend was chaotic to say the least. I love Halloween, but this one was kinda difficult My cousins daughter was killed by a drunk driver, then tonight another family member passed he was my age which is really getting to me. My vehicle broke down on th side of the road by the highway... its still there, think its my alternator and my son's daycare is in the country so idk what I am going to do to get to class in the morning... my eyes are dry from crying all day and I can't seem to remember the last time I felt this sad, and lastly I haven't finished my homework... I can't even concentrate on it in the least.
I haven't had much time to be here and don't think I'll have much time at all this week. :( just feeling alone and unable to sleep. lol I have to be awake in just over 4hrs... :(
Sheshhh Xui, I really am sorry for everything you are going through. I am very sorry for your loses, I would give you a big hug if possible. I can relate to the sleep thing, but 4 hours is really better than none, that is if you can fall alseep. Im here if you want to talk, well I will be for a little ahwile longer. Best Wishes.

Wasted part of the day getting my Internet to work. I fix customer's problems like this all day, but I cannot get my own to work. It wound up being the sales rep associated the wrong modem to my account leaving me dead in the water to troubleshoot it myself. I actually mentioned this to tech support: "Is the right modem on the account?" He said, "why wouldn't it be?" and moved on. Funny thing is it started working when I was on the phone with him, but then stopped again after I hung up of course. I have been changing cables, routers, etc... knowing it was not me in the back of my mind, but did it anyway. I know when I do tech support I hate talking to someone in the field because they try and tell me my job - so I try to not do the same. Well after 4 calls and a fee charged to my credit card for early cancellation (they had to cancel and recreate my account to get it right so they dinged me for the old account), and it still not working I called and told them how to fix my Internet. I felt bad doing it and I am not usually an egotistical person, but crap! I am going to send them a bill and see if they pay it :). Oh they gave me a $5 credit for all the trouble yippee  . At least it is going now and I can get back to work.
On a side note: Does anyone know if the word internet should be capitialized with first letter, all letters or no letters? Back in school (many moons ago) in tech classes we were supposed to capitialze all letters. Just curious.

I'm not sure what the exact nutritional requirements possums have, but they are omnivorous like rats, so I suppose it would be okay.
Back from the store and...
The recipe called for roasted, unsalted soy beans. The store only had raw and roasted, salted ones. So now I'm looking up how to roast soy beans.

Thanks Nebs and Ash about the house. We actually live in a pretty populous area, but my home is at the end of a cul-de-sac so we have a lot of privacy. We are lucky enough to have three lots in one. I have 7 neighbors butting up against the property, but we have privacy fences and lots and lots of tall bamboo so it feels like we are isolated.

Oooh, Carnivale! Yet another show cut short before its time. I really wish they had been better able to wrap up the storylines on that one. LOVED that show.
i am watching Julesee play in her gym and amazed. she is actually reaching for the toys on it and turning over all the while cussing in her own language.

Have done nothing but sit at work desk and fix computers and watch TV, I need some type of physical activity. yet another night of no sleep so i am watching Almost Famous. i forgot how much i love this movie
I havent long got up for the second time, I got up took my soon to school on the mob scooter nearly got hit by a inconsiderate driver. I came out of the school gates and stopped to cross to the central divide a driver stopped to let me cross to the middle and as I started to go another car over taked the stopped car and slammed the brakes on cause I was just going, I reversed the scooter and he just continued to wizz past! I was fuming but I didnt shout abuse at the idiot because there were children and parents about, but theres no need for that behaviour. Also im enjoying a coffee with painkillers hoping some pain will go away.

Sometimes the Kids are always around at the wrong time.. I am guessing that might be the worst thing when one has kids, you begin to think restrict youself from cussing in front of other kids as well.

Very true when bad things happen just like today, my first reaction is to shout something at the guy but held it back as there was kids about, I have in the past slipped up again being on the scooter and I have my son standing on it between my legs driving to the shop or school and some people shout abuse from passing cars, about me being on a mobility scooter. There is no need for that especailly as my son is there and I have shouted back but I do try not to. I think swearing in front of kids is terrible and afew weeks back I was having this exact conversation with my wife and friends about this woman in the playground 9:00 am, children all around and at the top of her voice "F*** off mun!" I just stopped and looked at her, she shouted this because another parent (friend of hers) tickled her. Unbelievable I tell you.
at last!!! i am FINALLY sleepy!!! its ONLY 7 a.m. and Julesee has already been up and fed breakfast but gone back to bed. Now its MY turn. see u later, mofos
