I'm not admitting defeat but I am ... ermmm ... modifying the proposed timescale for decorating this house.

6 or 7 years ago I could have painted the entire place to damn nearly a professional standard (and I'm not bragging overly here, I can't wallpaper for ****) in a couple of days maximum. Now, 3 days in, I've managed the hall ceiling and 2/3 of the hallway walls.

Annoying isn't the word...

I was sitting on the ground yesterday (mainly because I couldn't stand up) cursing all and sundry - not because I'm not well but because I couldn't do what I wanted to do. Childish, eh? :D

And the more offers of help I've had the more I'd determined to finish the bloody thing myself.

Taking a rest today, though. I'm not a complete bonehead. ;D

Don't wanna get all morbid here but because I grew up without a dad around, my granddad (mum's father) fulfilled that role - he taught me to drive, etc. He was the best man I've ever known, but I guess a lot of people would say that about their grandpa. :)

Spending time with my niece, dreading my Granddad's funeral this afternoon. :bawling:

Sorry to hear that, honeykid. *hugs*

My one grandfather died before I was born, and the other died when I was roughly two. I believe I have that right. My step-grandfather, who I thought for all those years was my grandfather, died when I was eleven. He had bone cancer, bless his heart. My one grandmother died when I was in my early twenties, but we had left Florida, to move here (TN), so we didn't see her much at all. Even before we moved, we didn't see her very often, because we lived a tad bit away from each other (Florida's long). We only saw her once, from the time that we moved here (I was roughly thirteen), until she died (My early twenties). My other grandmother, my mother's mother, is the one that I was super close to. She lived roughly ten minutes away from us. My father died when I was eight, and she was there to help my mother. When she moved back here, because of other family members, we were right on her tail. I remember it being my idea. Oddly enough, I was born here anyway (The folks were visiting family), so I figured what the hell. I miss her like you wouldn't believe. :)

Well here's my family history...both My grandmas died before I knew them and then my grandpa married the babysitter ( weird huh?) and they've been together ever since. I love my step grandma I've known her my while life but she has always loved her blood related grandchildren more which is understandable and she spent most of her money on them and one dropped out of college and the other one didn't go and now they're both knocked up and not with the fathers anymore :/ anyway my other grandpa died when I was ten or so and I have one grandparent left and he's getting down to the wire :(

So I'm sorry for your loss :(

Condolences dearie. :(

Beware, Caity. I once held a plumber hostage in my attic! :D

We had moved house and had a leaky radiator and our usual odd-job guy wasn't picking up his cellphone so we phoned one of those emergency plumbers out of the Yellow Pages. He was proceeding to drain out cold water tank when he informed us that he had a £60 call out charge and £60 per hour thereafter (with the first 60 coming one minute after he had been called out - swine).

I 'removed' his ladder and only put it back when he told us he wouldn't charge any more than £60.

The radiator didn't get fixed until our usual guy got back the next day but I felt extremely satisfied... /proud :)

In breaking news: I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon and he told me that, on top of the other toot, I've got advanced arthritis! No mere ordinary arthritis that the plebs get but the groovy advanced stuff! :D

It now makes sense that I've been rougher than usual these past few months, but at least I've got an 'Itis'. Not everyone can say that. /double proud ;D

Yep, although any 'victory' (if you can call it that) is a hollow one. It is, though, the first time I believe that a terrorist atrocity has been successfully challenged in the civil courts.

Dunno what the legal differences are in The US but here the difference between criminal guilt and civil liability is that guilt has to be proved beyond any reasonable doubt and liability just needs the balance of probability. There were so many factors in the criminal case that reasonable doubt was never gonna fly. Heck, they didn't even try and convict the 4 men who were yesterday named liable for the murders.

Laughing at the fact that, that leach of a human being Perez Hilton got punched in the face by one of Will.I.AM's friends.

Perez was asking for sympathy but he deserves none. If you constantly be a complete ******* and say ***** about others you will eventualy recieve a solid shot to the face. Im just surprised that this didn't happen earlier.

I thought it was Williams manager who did it? *I know I spelt it 'wrong', but he's not here, so what's he gonna do about it?*

Watching Encounters At The End Of The World.
