Just hoovered out the Tattymobile in preparation for her State Funeral tomorrow. Dunno quite why I do that - it's not as if it'll get me any more money for it (salesmen aren't gonna say "Hey, there's less grit in the footwells today, I'll give you an extra 500!". The line has been drawn at actually washing the thing, though.
Apart from 2p in the ashtray, I didn't even find any money. :(
I'll be quite sorry to see her go - in the last three years she's gone from a mere mode of transport to being a red mode of transport. Oh Yeah!

Right now I'm eating an apple and trying to decide on a movie to watch... although I'm not sure I can sit through one today... not sure what's up with me but I am so bored... which probably is not a good sign... :D
Right now eating potato soup and surfing.
My last car was hard to let go too (chevy camero convert.), but the one before that was such a relief (Econoline Van) to pitch I wanted to throw a party. The drive shaft actually fell out of it on me once. Out of sitght out of mind Tat's.:)
When I am bored and do not feel like going out or cannot got out I usually choose either a comedic sitcom or a depressing movie. I figure hopefully I will laugh at the comedy or cry abut the movie. Every one needs either a good laugh or a good cry now and then. I am still looking for a great depressing comedy to watch. :)

I should do the same. The previous motor (a little Ford) cost me less than my TV and I'd still have it now if I hadn't decided to contract hire. A flat monthly fee and it's insured and serviced/repaired included in the price - all I pay for on top is fuel.
The catch is that the cars are on a 3 year lease so I've no option but to swap it every 36 months. If I was paying HP for it there's no way I'd be letting it go so soon - 20,000 miles on the clock and service intervals of every 2 years. I could have had the same again but fancied a change. ;)
It's an excellent deal (under £200 a month, all-in) but I doubt if I'm doing the mileage to justify it after the next one - I might just end up buying a little shed and driving it into the dust again, once it starts costing money scrap it and start checking the local paper.
Because I was used for so long to driving company Land Rovers and Jeeps the pre-Tattymobile £325 car was a bit of a come down and probably the reason I'm motoring this way. Just need to keep convincing myself that I do not need a penis extension!
Changing a car? Somebody call Freud! :D
Oh yeah, I drove past the local Ford garage earlier and spotted the new Tattymobile sitting out front, plated up and waiting for me. I gave a little sigh...
7th - My cousin used to run a Camero convertible which he imported to Ireland from The States. They're an impressive looking vehicle but American cars just aren't suited to our twisty little roads, like a 14 year old in Nursery School. ;)

Well I did drive a Humvee (the real U.S. Military kind :)) On the twisty roads of Germany..no fun..at all..:(. I will not even mention the 2 1/2 ton I had to try and get through this archway in Bad Kissingen.

I checked into leasing here once and from what I remember, the amount wouldn't have been too much different than paying a regular note every month and I'd still have to pay the insurance in a lump sum... and I put way too many miles on a vehicle... my jeep is pushing 200,000... again... :p
7thson, I'd love to have a Humvee... they're ubber cool...

I guess everyone "at this very moment" is on movieforums.com but right now (well for the past few minutues) I have contemplated the world´s meaning, what to have for dinner and if i can be bothered or not to go for a wee, none of which i have a conclusion. Until further notice . . .

Watching the Wimbledon 4th round match between Roger Federer and Pete Sampras from 2001.
It's interesting to listen to the commentary, and hear the names Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt being referred as "the new generation".
It's even more interesting to hear the occasional news about Goran Ivanisevic's match that same day, when all tennis fans knew what he achieved that year as a wildcard entry.

Got one deceptively complicated mini-assignment to do. I have to "briefly comment on differences and/or similarities between the way Barbara Johnson applies the concept of discourse to a museum exhibition and the way that Ruth Barcan applies it to alternative therapies." This involves reading a pair of long, jargon-filled PDFs and pulling 100 words out of it.
Thing is, I'm not even going to get any marks because it's so late, but if I want to pass the course at all I still have to submit it. Uni is so great. :indifferent:

Wondering what everyone else does to shake off depression.... this is beginning to suck...
Normally I do real well. I can usually get distracted rather easily. Here these past 2 weeks, or however long, it's getting tiring. All the things f@cking up even more-so than before. I'm not going to be able to fix one problem, and it will more than likely get a lot worse. Another problem I can fix, but it's going to be one hell of a battle. A legal one, to boot. My moods been really messed up these past few days. As well as my attention span.
We women should have a private shout-box, for getting together, and venting. I'm not a fan of posting my personal crap everywhere.
Wondering what everyone else does to shake off depression.... this is beginning to suck...
Pick one small thing that has been annoying you, then shoot it. It could be a cell phone, a power outlet that doesnt work, a broken refig light, anything at all. Just shoot it or if you lack a gun use a hammer or some other heavy object. Do not use this method on loved ones or animals or any other living thing that is bigger than a hamster.
That or go swiming in cold water.
:)

I can make one. It can be used for that. Also, if enough people still want that movie night, with a popular rerun movie, chatting it up, during and after . . . I'd make one in a heartbeat. I loved that idea. It would be nice if we could do it.

Just what does that "S" stand for?
I may be a MoFo for several moments tonight. At least Swedish Chef knows (because of the Concert Thread) that I went to a Nada Surf concert last week with my daughter and brother (Brenda was too tired to stand for the three hours at the General Admission concert).
Anywho, Sarah found out that Nada Surf is playing in West Hollywood tonight, so she recruited as many friends from school who wanted to go, could afford it and stay out past Midnight. She was also supposed to recruit a parent driver, but it ended up being Brenda, who actually volunteered for the job, unbeknownst to me.
So, Brenda gets to play Ryan O'Neal and be The Driver for the three teenagers, but she still doesn't want to stand for the 3+ hours (it's gotta be super special for her to that nowadays). I helped her research the area near the Troubadour Club. About two miles away are several book stores and coffee houses which stay open late, so that will make Brenda very happy.
I get to hang here with all my friends and hope that I don't have to worry more than usual if they don't show up before 1 AM. Of course, I don't have a cell phone, but I have a land line, and they both have cell phones (for different logistical reasons) which they rarely use, but tonight I can call them if I get too worried.
Shut up, mark!
Ðèstîñy
09-07-08, 12:28 AM
No, don't shut-up. It's nice that you worry.
Also, cell phones are a smart idea, for reasons like that. I don't have one. I don't want one. My sister does, and she is out a lot, working, or whatever. I would if I wasn't such a home body. If I'm not here, I'm usually at someone else's house, or a store, etc . . .
If I'm ever lucky enough to travel, like I hope to do in the next couple of years, then I know I'll have one on me, with unlimited minutes. hehe
p.s. I know how your wife feels. By half way through my grocery store, I'm ready to cry. Her problem may not be her back, but standing for too long sucks, either way.

The same goes for me. Depending on what the problem is, venting with others who are doing the same, can help. That, I would do. My biggest worry right now isn't going anywhere for a bit, or maybe it will always be my problem. Saying what it is, is no biggie, but it will not change a thing. Not even how I feel.

They 'should' be calling him tomorrow, with the results, and then he will call me. Something tells me that it will be an evening phone call. What evening during this weekend, I do not know, but yeah, it will be in the evening.
I should probably go to bed now.

Repeating Nebs, and Caity. Hopefully it all works out.
Thanks for the comment. I feel bad for claustrophobic people. My mother is, and the second that lady started sliding me in there, I said, "God bless my mother. I can see why this bothers her." I was perfectly fine, but I could hang out in a closet all day, if need be. I liked the different sound effects, during the 7 or so scans they made. A couple of them sounded a tad like DJ music. Normally when I hear a weird song, or sounds like that, I . . . well, I purposely dance funny to it. Dancing normal wouldn't be any fun. Anyway, that one scan started, I had that thought, and got the giggles. I can't be serious to save my life. I'm glad I didn't mess up the scan.
Caity . . . um, places? ;)

Trying to fix stopped up plumbing in one of our bathrooms. I now have the toilet outside and getting some latex gloves. The water goes down the hole in the floor so I am thinking a toy or something is in the toilet itself. Had to take a break, that mother is heavy.
:frustrated:
Pheww, toilet is flushing again. You know how well you can clean a toilet bowl when it is outside and you use a garden hose, that thing was nasty and I thought we kept a clean bathroom yechhh. I may have to take all the toilets out...just not today.

I'm enjoying how quiet the town seems today, probably something to do with the 1000s of people nursing sore heads after this (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/northern_ireland/gaelic_games/7628281.stm).
Up Tyrone! :D
kinda sad...
