younger than me by almost a year, so that means shes almost 14, i feel horrible, she's coming down with her family on thursday and i am leaving on friday to a debate tournament and coming back on sunday just in time to make the birthday girls day. so i am making it extra special. i strung up lights in my room and all this other stuff. and her cake is going to be the best.

thinking what an absolute failure i am on the shopping aspect. no matter how i try i cannot stay on task. i did find ALOT of cute stuff, just nothing that would fit in the 'career/professional/lets-play-grown-up' genre. it's not my fault they don't make suits for teenagers. am considering HIRING somebody to shop for me. i did get some adorable socks though. and i saw so much stuff i want to get, but alas my mother said i wouldn't be able to wear a mini skirt at a debate tournament. blast that dress code and woe is me.

oh shopping i am fine at that, you aren't born and raised in California without becoming anything but that. my problem is is that whatever i am shopping for i never seem to find. i know exactly what i want where to get it. it's just never there. and usually i get something i wasn't looking for or had any intentions at all about buying but then i do and it becomes my favorite thing. if my mother would of allowed me, i would probably broughten home all of Nordstroms Rack.

It might not be the right medication for you but don't give up on it, as i remember you weren't better before you went on it you had a breakdown. When you get one that suits you will feel better, all medication can have side effects, not just medication for emotional illness, so hang in there. :)

I don't suggest that you continue with a medication that is making you more ill, mostly any side effects wear off after a week, which hasn't happened with you. Try what ever the Dr says and keep an open mine, it isn't the tabs that are giving you the mood swings, they are not working, it is the depression causing the mood swings and making you feel miserable, also remember that it takes anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to feel the full effects of the medication. :)

Actually life does suck........but..........it is also an amazing gift that can make you appreciate the good times: looking at your children when they sleep, watching other people smile, it is the simple things that make my life worthwhile, the rest of the stuff is in the way. I myself suffer from bouts of depression, granted I have no idea what has made you hate life because I am not in your shoes. I do know however that it will get better. "this too shall pass" so to speak. Good luck to you, keep your mind clear of bad thoughts and if nothing else ; take a bananna and chew it up, then spit it out on someones shoes and say "Ughhhhh I knew I shouldnt have eaten those cow brains!"

Man, I wish I lived near you, because I'd go over and kick the crap out of ya' so you could focus on hating me instead. Life's not as bad as your depression tells you. All your limbs are still attached, you're puppy didn't croak, and even if you lost this girl, that doesn't mean that there won't be another one around the corner. it may seem hard to do, but there are ways around it...writing, singing, drawing..something..

what i do when life gets me down is i write something in a diary or sing a song that i find inspirational..something that lifts me up..something that makes me happy..

one song that always does it is everyboy hurts by rem..makes you think that you aren't the only one out there feeling this way..that alone should make you feel better about yourself...

I know what you mean, I really do. I've had a few things to be depressed about as well, like not seeing my children for the last three years, impending bankruptcy, etc. What you need to do is to start focusing on being a positive influence for someone else. Say you make a dozen or so peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and conspicuously hand them out to hungry homeless people. Or maybe you can give people rides to meetings. Or maybe donate some time at a shelter. There are literally dozens of things you could do. Anything to get you to quit focusing about the things you are habitually focusing on. I've fought chronic depression for most of my life and it wasn't drugs that brought me out of it. It was doing a 180 with the way I thought. I still get depressed, but it passes. It has to begin with the obsessing. Stop it. Do something for yourself to stop it. Saying you can't without actually putting up a valiant fight is just pathetic. Do you want to seen as being pathetic? Constantly whining about how ****ty life is will only result with people getting sick of you. You don't want that. Fight for your happiness, quit laying down and giving up.

There are millions of people worse off than you.... Go help them, Get incontact with a local NGO, Get engought money togeather get a ticket and just go for it.

It has opend oppatunities i would have never had before (If i can get the money togeather i will be going to teibet later this year).. And charity work is not all standing in malls with a tin, its much more than that, its about getting in there and helping people while gaining experiacne for yourself.......
