I know you are a style-kind-of-guy, Swan! :p that's obvious by now!
But man, I must have forgot you love for PTA as well. I'm a big fan of both QT and PTA too!

Despite how nasty and grossly sloppy-looking Kurt Russell just was eating those tacos... I became rather hungry just now lol.
I just ate, so it didn't make me hungry. Though I kind of wish I ate nachos. :D

by the way, I think it's great that Tarantino was DoP on his own movie for this. He knows exactly how it should look and feel. No better man for the job. at least it's also fun to see him try his hand at that...
He's not quite up there with Rodriguez though, who edits, makes music and all that sh*t! :D

Yeah, he was probably inspired by Rodriguez there.
I think Tarantino is better than Rodriguez, but I'm enough of a Rodriguez fan too. I admire him greatly for doing his "own stunts," if you want to put it that way.
You know Tarantino is pulling this "do you know any of these shows or actors I'm talking about?" bit from real life. :D

What is your least favorite Tarantino flick, Swan?
I think probably Inglorious Basterds. I read the script to it a couple years ago (I've read, I think, half of Tarantino's scripts. At least out of the ones he made into movies. :D) and I felt it was a lot better than the movie it turned into. I hate to put down a Tarantino flick, and it has some great moments, but it just doesn't do a hell of a lot for me personally.
How about you?

I haven't read the script for IB, so I like it just fine! :D haha, but yeah many seem to hate it, but oddly enough that was the film that truly got me interested in Tarantino.
As of now I say Jackie Brown. I have only seen it one time but I really didn't feel it. Funny enough, it is also the only film of QT's which isn't an original story by him - though of course it's his dialogue and everything. But I do feel like you can sense that it is based on other material... Anyways, I just remember it to be over-long and rather boring. But I'll need to see it again, of course.
I love Jackie Brown, but I've only seen it once.
The worst Tarantino is still better than a lot of stuff, though, in my opinion.

Yeah, course if you like Tarantino, bad Tarantino is still very much Tarantino.
Anyways! Now it gets awesome! love this dialogue Stuntman Mike gives!

I would love to see him in any genre! He talked about sci-fi once, didn't he? But that would be so weird since he love things that are "from way back when" and not the other way around! :D
Yeah. I think he could still do an interesting science fiction film. Maybe time travel would work for him?

Don't know if you knew this, but, Quentin Tarantino was actually asked to write Halloween 6 (1995's Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers).
Here's an article about it. (http://www.angelfire.com/ma/babybrownsplace/articles/art5.html)
"They wanted me to write Halloween 6 back when they were first going to make it," recalls the Oscar-winning filmmaker. "It totally would have dealt with that whole open-end thing that Halloween 5 had. But it just never happened."

Oh, I was just about to write something but thought it was stupid since you probably knew.
Kill Bill vol. 2 being my possible favorite QT, I definitely remember the sherif as clear as day, with the dusins of sunglasses in his car, and calling to son #1 or #2 or whatever, when they check out The Bride's "death spot" aka Massacre Wedding crime scene. :D

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is my favorite actress in the whole damn movie. She's just great.

But of course, I wrote my final exam assignment on Tarantino and general violence in cinema. 26 pages of glory golden cinema discussion! I didn't get top grade though, I fanboyed a little too much in the middle - though I tried my best to resist - and ended a little "off" from what I was supposed to do. I was supposed to analyze Kill Bill vol. 1 but instead I kind of "expanded" my knowledge and showed why it was awesome. Dammit. :D

You know I'm gonna prefer Halloween, but they're two different styles. I'm a bigger fan of Halloween than Pulp Fiction (though both are in my top ten), but I'm a bigger fan of Tarantino than John Carpenter (though I'm a fan of both). Still, like I said, two different styles - Tarantino being more in-your-face, Halloween being more subtle and mood-oriented.

Well, nah not exactly. They just basically said I forgot to "lead the reader" a few places, because I obviously had more basic knowledge on the subject than the potential reader, and sometimes I kind of forgot that.
And during the analysis I basically just did it wrong, so not much to do there. Instead of analyzing it on a filmmaking kind of level, I digged more in the story and origin behind, which apparently was wrong, though I found their description of the assignment stupid. It basically was impossible to do exactly what they said for a piece of 10+ pages...
But **** it, I love what I ended up with and I'm satisfied with my grade. :D

I feel like these older zombie films had to tell the story a lot more intelligently than they do now. Mainly because they were forced to give off a vibe that the world is overrun with zombies but tend to be more limited in their effects. Now you can just show it in movies like World War Z. But back then, it took a little more craft.

I HATED World War Z. So damn much. Yeah before CGI you had to be practical. And you had to keep the budget low for that. So you needed character, story telling, and clever movie making. Now they make them generic.

28 Days Later was good. I prefer the Zack Snyder Dawn remake, but yeah it has been a while since they made a really good zombie flick.
Then again I really enjoyed Diary of the Dead. HATED Survival of the Dead though...
For me, it would depend on what kind of zombie they are. If there's a possibility of them being able to become human again (unlikely, but I'm thinking about the virus-zombies like in 28 Days Later), then I'd only shoot them if they were about to kill me. But if they're totally useless corpses? Well, I think I just might have a little fun.

Man, I'd have to think about that. I can be pretty aggressive when I feel like it, so probably something like a bat or an axe, as opposed to a gun which takes more precision. I imagine with a zombie I'd rather bash their brains in. I can see myself owning with a bat. Actually, I remember around 2011 I kept a bat near my bed in case of a zombie attack. :D

I have an AR-15, but I also want to get a shotgun. My department uses the Remington 870, so I want to pick up one of those. Selections of handguns range from my duty issue 9mm, my beloved Sig Sauer 45 ACP, and my S&W 686 in 357 Magnum.
And also a machete. Need one melee tool on hand.

I do think, if it was the dawn of the zombie apocalypse and you had no knowledge about the zombies, something relatively long distance like a gun would be a better option, if you were good with it. Considering close-range, you might get blood on ya which, who knows, might be contagious.

I do think, if it was the dawn of the zombie apocalypse and you had no knowledge about the zombies, something relatively long distance like a gun would be a better option, if you were good with it. Considering close-range, you might get blood on ya which, who knows, might be contagious.
That is why I have the Israeli gas mask! :D

Between Zombieland and Dawn, it makes me want to play Resident Evil 2 again!
Whoa, we're almost 40 minutes in. Crazy how time flies when you're discussing zombie apocalypses. :p

Thanks bro. Now fly boy is going crazy with his Colt Single Action Army.
I think placing the film in a mall was a stroke of genius. Such a good idea for a zombie film.

Oh hell yeah. Best place for it too. Enclosed so it still feels kinda claustrophobic, but plenty more space then a house.

Dude, you like Mio too? F*ck yeah! I have so much Mio in the house.
Mio Energy does wonders at keeping me awake. For some reason, coffee doesn't really work as well as that stuff.

Love the gun store. Though they cater more to the big game hunter crowd it seems.

I would say Fruit Punch, Black Cherry and Strawberry Watermelon are my top three. Haven't tried Orange Vanilla or Blue Lemonade, though.

I like the Blue Lemonade since we can't have flavored drinks in class. But out water bottles are blue so a little squirt for a hint of flavor blends in more then say a dark red batch.

Wal-Mart sells a generic water enhancer that is Strawberry Limeade. That is actually pretty bitchen too.

No one wants to go to Canada. To many people who say about, aboot.
Pure, motorized instinct.

i have an odd combination of being slightly ambidextrous & with a strong lefty streak, but right-eye dominant... the machete in the left hand and double-barreled shotgun in the right hand has the chance to be pretty lethal
then again, part of me just wants to go southpaw freddy blades, as messy as that'd be

What I would do, is go to the DVD store, find this movie, watch it, and see what stores they go into and what they do. Use it as kind of a guide.
