I was surprised people even thought it was a comedy. As a kid, that movie was one of the scariest horror films I knew of. I think it's so extreme. Hellraiser is less scary to me than Return of the Living Dead.

The Exorcist if the girl wasn't really possessed. If she was just pretending, perhaps at the demands of her crazy family who want attention.

I was certainly more invested in the other Fulci's I've seen, but I wonder if that's because I'm doing the commentary. Still, the gore is peak Fulci and the atmosphere is ace.

Commentaries don't work as well with atmospheric films, IMO. Especially if you've not seen the film before. I can't think I'd like this if this was the first time I'd 'watched' it. I don't consider these proper viewings though, they're just fun. Like Guardians of The Galaxy. I've seen it and think that I'd like to give it a proper go, but I don't feel like I've really watched it.

It's an interesting question. I always thought of them as being humans stripped of anything but their primal desires, but then, in Dawn of the Dead a lot of them seem to migrate to the shopping mall - like they have memories of it intact.

Again, this is a good question and one which zombie films address sometimes, even if it's only to put the question in your own mind. Do you kill someone who's going to die and become a monster or do you wait? Of course, sometimes I think, as always, it depends on the lore.
