Yup, + rep for Tesis which is a great little thriller. Better than Schumacher's similarly themed 8MM (which I also like).

Even though it's cheesy, I have a real soft spot for Mother of Tears despite it being the weakest of Argento's 'Three Mothers' trilogy. It has none of the visual flair or surreal atmosphere of Suspiria and Inferno, plus Simonetti's soundtrack can't begin to approach the brilliance of his previous work with Goblin, or Keith Emerson's music for Inferno. You just can't argue with a film in which a man is strangled to death by his own intestines though, and the punky looking witches are unintentionally hilarious to me.

You have to admit, the price I paid for the movies wasnt bad.... I got Tesis (I love Amenabar films) and The Secret in Their Eyes for $1.99. Even Mother of Tears was that price. I did pay $5.99 for 4M, 3W and 2D... I seen it before tho.

I have seen Tesis and The Secret in their Eyes.... before..

I love Ricardo Darin films (TSITE) and I have seen many of his films. My movie buddy is Argentine like Darin.. so of course I have had to watch them!

For $7.30

I could have gotten Shame with Michael Fassbender for only $4.30, but as typical as it can be, I bought just Nightcrawler the first place and decided to go to the same chain store, only the one near my house - but there they didn't have Shame. :( but ironically, they had Nightcrawler there, so I should have reversed the two or bought both in the first place... Anyways, I'll get to it. :)

Well, as I said the plan was to buy both, but I was sure I could find it that other place. It's only because I didn't my credit card on me and didn't have enough cash for both.

Because yes, Shame is an amazing film and I'll buy it as soon as I spot it at the same price. ;)

I don't think I've watched "The X-Files" since it originally aired, so I'm looking forward to re-watching it. Hopefully with the series coming out on Blu-Ray soon, I'll be able to find the rest of the seasons cheap too.

No matter what people say, this movie is fun. I actually quite like it (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?p=1248843#post1248843) for the over the top crazy full-blown Bay-ism that it most certainly is. But you can't deny the action. This still has one of the best car chases on film hands down...

Yeah, I mean, it's a Bay film so you know what to expect. Over the top and clichéd characters, racism, sexism, vulgar humor, a lot of cursing and a sh*t load of explosions...

But despite The Rock being his best film, I think this one of the best "pure Bayism" films. Also, it's old school Michael Bay, so it's the real deal type of action, non of that heavy CG stuff. But yeah, you should watch both, SC.

The first is more like a typical buddy cop comedy of the 90s and definitely more adaptable and easy to watch than the sequel. Bad Boys II push all buttons there is and many won't find that to to their taste - especially because a lot of it is delivered with NO taste at all.

All are upgrades from dvd except The Machine. Went for the R2 UK disc as it's much cheaper. The Rabid steelbook edition was also cheaper than the standard edition at the time ordering - I don't usually collect tins. So glad to get rid of my old Prism dvd as the picture was awful. Would go for the Arrow steelbook of Shivers too but for the missing twenty five seconds controversy. As soon as they sort it out I'll be all over that one because the much like Rabid; the Prism dvd is atrocious.

Ha, I'd forgotten you'd relocated. To be honest, it probably wouldn't even be worth the postage - You can pick up that edition brand new for buttons and it's not even 1080p, more like 1080i.

Makes sense. I realised right after posting it isn't worth it, and the Arrow release is the one I really want. Now if only Arrow could sort out Hodges' Get Carter since Warner decided to put back the US dub segment for the BD. Crazy.

Hana-bi arrived today and it looks like a fantastic transfer. The R2 DVD was, in places, little better than VHS quality so I'm pretty happy.

Nope, I rarely watch shows and when I do it's usually the high rated ones and I watch them a while after they'd premiered.

Legend! Because I wasn't old enough to see it in the cinema...

I actually really enjoyed it. Legend tells the story of the Kray twins, beginning just after Ronald Kray is certified insane, with paranoid schizophrenia. It then follows them through to *SPOILERS* the murder of Jack McVitie in 1967, and the eventual downfall and arrest of the Kray twins. Subplots include the tragic arc of Reggie's wife, Frances Shea, who provides some nice contrast to the incredible masculinity of the rest of the film.

My main qualms going into the film was Tom Hardy playing both the twins - I'd never seen one actor play twins before, and was a little bit nervous he would ignore the differences between them. He didn't. In fact I forgot it was the same actor. While they look almost identical, and share some mannerisms, they are completely different characters and neither the script nor Hardy tries to deny it. He did an absolutely phonemail job, especially in the scenes where they are often in the same shot, I soon forgot about it. Emily Browning also did a fantastic job as Reggie's wife, Frances, and David Thewlis as the twins' business advisor.

Many reviews I read of the film seemed to see the film as glamourising crime and violence; I don't think it did. The film was clearly infatuated with the Twins and their reputation, but as far I could see it seemed intent on portraying their lives and surroundings as honestly as possible - the film shows plenty of the dark side of crime.

Overall I'd say this was a solid film, held together mainly by it's acting with a decent script and a good story to tell. And that's exactly it, past all the punches and "****s", its a damn good story. 4

Last I bought:

http://dizw242ufxqut.cloudfront.net/images/product/movie/dvd/image2/game_of_thrones_-_season_4_5_disc_nordic-23928002-frntl.jpeg

and then I got these next ones kind of for free - I don't know what it will be called in english. But it's kind of like a flea market, except you come with something you don't want anymore, and lay it out on tables, and then you can take something someone else didn't want anymore. So I took these dvd's:

Got these from Walmart because I really wanted to see one last year and because the other's a childhood favorite.

I'll rep that for When Harry Met Sally. That's a wonderful film.
