No you don't need a towel, I just wrapped him in a one to keep him warm plus I don't think they are the cleanest of animals. They are cute though, he just wanted to burrow into me.

Well, I live in Canada anyway. I do have some German ancestry, but you have to go back more than 200 years.

I had a short, but full beard and shaved it. I could grow mutton chops if I wanted heh. But I actually don't like beards. I just get lazy sometimes and don't shave, then I trim it before work because it takes less time than shaving.

How goes it with the hedgie? My sister had one, but she ended up giving it up for adoption. I was curious how engaged it is? Hers was not very active.

I ended up going to the vet actually for the reasons you've mentioned. I was worried as he wasn't moving much or eating/drinking. All he wanted to do was lie in my arms. The vet said that's how they are and just to put him back to where I found him, also, apparently they aren't the cleanest of animals. I put him back and no joke, next thing I found him waiting at my front door! After a while he eventually moved on and not seen him since. How long did your sister keep it for?

We have thunderstorms first - all weekend so I willlove and appreciate them, Gang. Then it probably wont get to 40 in my suburb...maybe just 39.

Yeah, we had a dude in a Vikings jersey and an Eagles jersey there, with only one Steeler jersey to balance. Scandalous.

Anyway, it was stupidly fun. Really enjoyed it. Unveiled the trophy, blew open the pinata, made avocado milkshakes (they were actually good!), homemade guacamole, and handed out silicon championship rings.

I've spent part of the morning here at working trying to give away extra potato chips and avocados, and I'll probably be giving away half a tub of vanilla ice cream tomorrow. We had too much of pretty much everything, but that was by design.

Probably going to become an annual tradition, championship or no, though hopefully next year we can do it while it's still warm and make it a grill out.

hubs and i did our annual St. Augustine to look at the lights and pubcrawl on Friday night. it was fun as always, but it pissed it down in buckets and i wasn't wearing the right shoes at all, so my feet were freezins and wet for a bulk of the time. we had dins @ the Columbian, tho, which is always super yummy and we ended up in this lil irish pub where people were singing rowdy drinking songs which was OK with us :up:

oh, and this is unrelated, but i just really wanna share these here. recently, i've made a bunch of new and dear female friends and it's kinda turned into a cool little girly support group. long story how it all happened, but anyway, it's been pretty awesome and i'm so happy i've met all these awesome and cool people who have actually turned into some of my closest friends

anyway here's me, my husband, some of my girl gang, and their SO's last time we's all went to the pub. we started out at the pub down the street then all ended up at my friend Trish's house. she let me pet her gecko, who is featured in the last pic. (not a euphemism, creepos, she really has a pet lizard named Tequila). on this particular day i had been feeling kind depressed and anxious about some personal stuff and i ALMOST didn't end up going out, but at the last minute, w/ some encouragement from my husband, i decided to push myself and went. and it turned into one of my favorite nights w/ friends in recent memory<3 ~

The way I see it you have three options.

I got bitten by my friends dog in the face when i was a kid, but it was nothing it was a small bite that wasn't sore or deep or anything. I laughed it off, but before heading home i used my friends bathroom to wash my face. Unbeknownst to me and i don't understand how i somehow managed it i basically wiped the blood up my face, i didn't check a mirror not thinking this was even possible and having already seen the bitemark which was small. I then headed home without seeing my friend who obviously would have told me, i then went on a good 15 minute walk home with everyone staring at me, i thought it was them just wondering what happened. Wasn't until i got home that i realized the blood had dried in when i was walking home making me look like a Michael Myers victim, suddenly all those peoples faces appeared in my head and those weren't looks of curiousity...it was pure horror. Probably the most dumb, baffling and embarrassing thing that ever happened to me :facepalm: I was seven :laugh:

I think the foundation for any video store should be its horror section. And they had a good one: Faces of Death collection, the Grindhouse release of I Drink Your Blood (1970), Suspiria (1977) and other cult horror movies. Their classics section was definitely lacking, I didn't see any of the WB Gangster movies (unless they were rented out), but definitely an impressive video store. I sort of want to move to Tennessee just to rent from there.

Didn't get a picture of the really little kitten I brought to the shelter the other day (didn't want to waste any time, because he was in such rough shape), but today I caught a larger one that seemed okay, so I took a moment to nab one:

Should be safe and sound now. The usual shelter was closed today (which I forgot until I got there), but the same organization has a Wildlife Habitat a little ways away, and the lady there said she could hang onto him for the day and have him brought down to the other place. So, yay.

Many shelters do not have room for kittens or “less desirables” & they will euthanize if they run out of space. 5,000 animals are euthanized DAILY in America. Its best to buy your pet from shelters or rescues that take in stray animals. They make sure they are in good health before they "adopt" them out. Why spend hundreds of dollars for a cat or dog with papers when all you want is a pet? Even at that, you can find a pure bred sometimes there too. I have three cats, 2 were strays and 1 was adopted. She is a Maine Coon mix but she was handled by the Siamese Rescue as one of her kittens were Siamese. One of my strays is a perfect tuxedo cat and he's part Siamese too.

Totally agree. My dentist here in New England only likes a particular dog breed, the name of which I’ve forgotten. She had her last dog flown in from Latvia!

My friend is a film student, and for his senior thesis class he gets to rent a Sony FS7 - an $8000 video camera - to use for his film project (a short film I will be heavily involved with, including being one of the main cameramen). He was instructed to rent it yesterday, to start learning it, and invited me over to check it out. We attached it to my new shoulder rig that had arrived in the mail the same day, and shot some stuff. I'm finding I'm very quick to learn this equipment, but I tend to learn fast with stuff I am passionate about. That's not to say I have mastered the rig yet, because like any skill it will take practice, but I am quick to gain knowledge which helps. Also, this thing was freaking heavy. By the time the shoot is over, I will be ripped like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Wow. Yes it is awesome. and I'm also super excited for you. So nice and clean, totally livable as is with a non intrusive colour scheme, and best of all, no thoroughly disgusting light fixtures. First house I bought had light fixtures that looked like they came straight out of a 1970s porn basement :bawling:.

CONGRATULATIONS MR AND MRS!!! No apologies for squealing for you. Many happy blessings for house warmings.

By the way, those handles in your white kitchen are quite similar to mine. Very practical.
