wow, a lot of outpouring of support for ALF. :D whoda thunk it? i thought the prime-time show was a lot funnier that the saturday morning cartoon myself. i think what made alf funny at the time was his clashing with world of human, really. ya know..... eating that cat, hiding from the neighbors, that stuff. plus, he blew up the house every other episode and what 4 year old can't appreciate that? :)

side note: i saw a rerun the other day. sadly, it wasn't as funny was when i was a toddler. i think i grew out of alf (which may be a good thing)

Well, I would've use all real names, but not all of us are known by our real names all that well. Spud just felt right. I think of him as Kent often, but Spud's cooler. :yup: People wouldn't have known Brodie's real name offhand, I don't think...and Matt was Toose because we already had a Matt, and it was easier than fitting in "Silver" or "Silver Bullet." I just sorta went with whatever felt right for each person. I'm open to suggestions and changes, though.

Thank you ever so much. You became Mir because I have to have alternate names for people. My baby brother Jack frustrates me because he has no other version of his name. It's always Jack. So I call him Jackolas, or Kojack, or Jack-o, or something else. Mir fits well for you, I think. If you want me to stop I will, but I like it. :)

ellie can't read spud......she thinks she can. she memorizes stories/nursery rhymes from the first reading (me reading to her) and actually reads them back to me word for word. it looks like she's reading. it's pretty fricken amazing actually.

Thanks. As a kid, my uncle was the kind of guy that would bring cards with him so he could do little tricks for us. He always had candy in his pockets too and not just boring ol' Lifesavors or something, it was good stuff like Atomic Fire Balls or Dutch Mints. :licklips:
