Exclusive: �Sin City 2″ in Prouction Next Year?

During the Toronto International Film Festival, MTV News tracked down �Sin City� actor Clive Owen, to find out whether he thinks the project is ever going to happen�or if Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez� follow-up could indeed be just over the horizon.

�I�m hearing it might be next year. I heard that from a very good source� recently.� � Owen told MTV News. However, Owen wouldn�t reveal where he heard the news, and he didn�t let fans� hopes get too carried away. According to the actor, he hasn�t read a script for the film yet.

MySpace Lands Nightmare on Elm Street Teaser

Producer Brad Fuller revealed tonight that MySpace is set to give that latest Freddy Krueger film its online teaser debut early next week. No exact day was offered. But keep an eye out.

Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker and Katie Cassidy star in this reboot of the Nightmare franchise. New Line opens the film on April 30th.

Is ABC�s �V� In Trouble?

ABC�s �V� is slated for a November 3rd premiere and for curious fans of the original series, it can�t be soon enough to see what ABC has done to it in this latest incarnation.

Yet you may wish to temper your complete enthusiasm for the first season of �V� because ABC is (as they put it) splitting up the season.

Yes, you read that right. ABC is splitting up the season. They�re going to run the first 4 episodes in November, leaving the 4th episode as a sort of cliffhanger. This will then set the stage for a mid-season return.

Maybe.

It�s all rather confounding. Apparently there�s been a flurry of speculation that the series is having problems of one fashion or another.

The production shut down of �V� that took place in late August is helping fuel lots of rumors. The rumors are ranging from the series is dead to what has been filmed will be aired as a mini-series.

Yet ABC and Warner Bros. TV says episode 4 is getting ready to be filmed (mid-October) and then they will go on a holiday hiatus.

Huh? Did they just say, �No, it�s not in trouble, but we�re going to take a holiday break months ahead of schedule.�?

Any good corporate entity has to put on the smiley face. And it's odd that this comes on the tail end of a WGA mediation that ruled that �V� is a remake, and as such, has to credit the original series creator, Kenneth Johnson.

So hang tight gang and be patient. That�s all we can do until they resolve their issues with �V�.

Popeye movie is coming�in CGI

Apparently when Marvel acquires projects they intend to do something with them, and thats the case for Popeye. Marvel Head Avi Arad has recently mentioned that they intend to bring Popeye back to the big screen, and I will go out on a limb and say that it will not star Robin Williams, and his forearms will look quite a bit better.

Arad also secured the rights to �Popeye,� in hopes of rebooting that franchise as well. But he won�t go down the same path that the 1980 film, starring Robin Williams, did. He is instead planning to make it a CGI animated feature.

Well there you have it, they are going to go the route of TMNT and then will announce a live action one a couple of months after the CGI version comes out.

Danny Trejo Joins "Predators" Reboot

Speaking to PunchDrunkCritics, Danny Trejo revealed that he and director Robert Rodriguez have wrapped the Machete shoot and are now moving on to Predators. This is the first casting news from the new reboot, but no word on what role Trejo will play.

The new movie involves a very intense group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors that are not always from outside their group.

Predators is being produced by Rodriguez and directed by Nimrod Antal (Vacancy, Armored). It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 7th, 2010.

Just moments ago the first official trailer for Platinum Dunes' A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot hit the web courtesy of MySpace.

Freddy Krueger returns in 'A Nightmare on Elm Street,' a contemporary re-imagining of the horror classic. A group of suburban teenagers share one common bond: they are all being stalked by Freddy Krueger, a horribly disfigured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can protect one another... but when they sleep, there is no escape. Jackie Earle Haley stars as Krueger.

Thanks for the link but I wasn't that impressed with the trailer. Samuel Bayer has directed some great music videos but hes never directed a film before, the only thing that might persuade me to see this is Jackie Earle Haley.

Personally I wasnt to fond of seein this remake until I saw this trailer. I actually am now psyched andcan't wait to see this. Jackie is what wil lmake this film stand out for sure, but lookin at the trailer it certainly pays homage to Wes Craven's original. Jackie has signed for 2 sequels to this and if this turns out to be half as good as the trailer was, I'll be there for the sequel.

TBH I was hoping there would be some ressembelances but thats just me being picky I supose, but yeah it will take time and im sure I will get used to it.

Well, I was about 19 when the first Nightmare came out, and really it didn't scare me as much as it did impress me. Michael Bay Productions recent knack for remaking already established horror classics are good attempts--and I appreciate them. Unlike say, Rob Zombie (his abysmal Halloween remakes) who tries to make them his own, Bay, I think, understands that keeping a classic somewhat intact makes its original audience feel freshened while new audiences can make up their own minds. I'll be seeing this one for sure. Thanks jrs.
