But yes, "sharing experience" is pretty bad for the most part when it comes to art. It's best to experience films & music alone. Other people mostly ruin the experience and you can say that experiencing something with others is great, and maybe it is, but that's a different kind of great, and it's mostly great because it's with them, while at the same time you realize that the thing itself would be greater if it was just you. There’s that. Not just that though. I essentially perceive the world mainly through films, books and music, the rest is secondary. Always been that way. People find that shallow (understandably I guess) but I kind of find the opposite shallow. My ex was someone who partly faked being into the things I like (not even specific films but just film, music, etc). It eventually came out that he wasn’t really into it, just into ‘spending time together’ and all the euphemisms. 

Sounds cute, I suppose, but I found it really off-putting. I think he mainly ‘endured’ the art/music/film stuff. Anyway, I think the whole ‘sharing experiences’ thing is really idealised; I’ve mainly had people ruin stuff for me permanently and rarely any long-term positive outcomes.[/quote]
