Gah. I can't stop bugging about this. Or I'm procrastinating work. Either way, it's keeping me here.
OK. So thinking more on this maybe I misread the meaning. I do, often, watch movies that are good and find myself enjoying it right up until a character does some irrational out of character, writer-driven action to move the plot forward. THAT crap pulls me right out. It's never really acting though. Just, once I realize the fictional world I'm watching is altered by some outside presence (writer/director) that normal would never happen in that world based on whatever rules are laid out so far, I can't get back into any of it.

Well. There was that pretty bad flick called Wing Commander I might have walked out of. I'm not sure if I did or not though.
Yeah. I can't think of any movies I've watched without having a partial understanding that it's going to be B. Of course, it may help lower my expectations by approaching movies I've not heard of and just assuming a B standard. That way I'm pleasantly surprised? I don't know. I don't really think about it.
