I think it’s a different philosophy. I’m quite squeamish and covid complicated it all, but I like going into thrift stores just to browse & smell history. I think the people who go to them (and even in my circle there are lots) see it more as a pastime/entertainment/lifestyle thing. And as such, it persists. In the 10 mile radius from my house there are at least 8 thrift stores (that I know of) and they are all doing well (even the fact they’re still open when the John Lewises and House of Frasers are closing speaks to that…)[/quote]
