Personal Recommendation Hall of Fame VI
Welcome to the 6th Personal Recommendation Hall of Fame! If you're unfamiliar with how this works, take a look at the links below- Personal Recommendation Hall of Fame I Winner-Neiba Personal Recommendation Hall of Fame II Winner-TheUsualSuspect Personal Recommendation Hall of Fame: Foreign Language Edition Winner-Citizen Rules Personal Recommendation Hall of Fame IV Winner-Hey Fredrick Personal Recommended Hall of Fame V: Comedy Edition Winner-Citizen Rules https://www.hollywoodinsider.com/wp-...ican-Films.png You must choose movies from the available lists that the other members have not seen. Make sure your lists are filled out and up to date! There is no runtime limit for nominations. However, any member can refuse to watch any movie over 3 hours long for any reason, and get a replacement nomination. Normally the due date would add up to 1 week per movie. I will add about 2 weeks to that total to give ample time to finish, but there will be a due date! Anyone can join, but if you've never completed a Hall of Fame before, you will need to watch 4 of the movies picked for you within 2 weeks before I post your nominations. You have until Thursday night 8/18 to join. Once Friday comes you can start sending me your nominations. I ask that you wait until then so that my inbox doesn't fill up. Any questions go ahead and ask in the thread. Let's go! Re: Personal Recommendation Hall of Fame VI
I too am in. Really look forward to it
|
I’m in. With the recent comedy countdown finishing up, I’m sure there will be plenty to provide for people from there.
|
The deadline to join is Thursday 11pm EDT. There are no late joiners for this HoF!
1 hour later at midnight you can start sending your nominations. The sooner you get them in, the less likely you'll have to pick over. If I get everyone's noms Friday, I should have them up Saturday. |
Sign me up!

To help people with their selection, I don’t have any real preference. I like all sorts of films and genres.
If you want any hints, look at foreign films (cannes, Elbert’s greatest, Oscar for foreign film, and the more recent foreign film countdown), westerns (BFI and our own countdown), horror, Sci Fi, Noir (BFI list), and also both of the comedy lists. But feel free to pick anything you think I should watch. I plan on 100% completion on all of the lists eventually. |
Make sure all of your lists are updated!
Also, no secrets necessary, unless you want them. Feel free to discuss with people what you chose for them, before or after they watch it. |

Nothing over 3 hours for Ed. 3 hours and 1 second and you're picking again!

Re: Personal Recommendation Hall of Fame VI
I'll take any length of film. But I prefer not to know who picked what for me.
|
No telling CR what you picked for him (lying is ok).
|
And someone invite Takoma, I think I'm still on her ignore list:leo:
|
I'm up for this - for my nominations, I prefer films that have been released by Criterion, so extra points for choosing one of those for me.

Re: Personal Recommendation Hall of Fame VI
For my nominations, I prefer R rated musical thrillers featuring kittens and babies, longer than 87 minutes, but less than 257 minutes, preferably in technicolor with a jazz score and nominated for no less than seven Oscars. I feel that is a reasonable thing to ask.
