The Shoutbox
AFI seems talented enough, but they take themselves way too seriously. As do a startling number of bands today, I think.
I'm with you Sedai, I don't think AFI is all that either.

I think best album of 2006 was The Fall of Ideals by All That Remains.
No speakers on this PC here at work. I'll pepp it when i get home. Maybe I'll crack it open on my Mac at lunch here at work... I run all the music for my department though that to a surround system in the office...
Go ahead and go to www.myspace.com/afi and directly to the right you'll se "Love Like Winter"

Hit play.
Yeah, Bobby, I will check out the tunes you mentioned... Maybe they just chose to play two of the worst songs in their catalog for the shoes...I doubt it, tho...
You don't like "Love Like Winter"!?

What about "The Leaving Song Pt. 2"? "This Time Imperfect"?

AFI is one of only two musical acts (U2) who I would pay to go watch.
Ack! AFI is SUCH a poor collection of musicians. I have had the displeasure of catching two different live performances on TV at this point, and they were unbearable. Some of the most vanilla, poorly written tunes I have ever been exposed to. Still, maybe I just haven't heard the right material? Who knows...
I think I actually prefer "Decemberunderground" over anything else, but "Loose" is REALLY good.

I just like AFI too much to not give them the nod.
Why do you hate that you like Nelly Furtado? I tried to fight it for the longest time, but "Loose" too good not to like.
Oi, Nelly Fertado.... I hate the fact that I like her. I really do...

Best of 2006...tough one, not much caught my attentiion this year...

I guess I would have to say either Tool's 10,000 Days, or Muse's Black Holes and Revelations...
I'm going with Stadium Arcadium.
