Ha, I feel you. Was alone in the office from September to November until they closed the damn thing altogether due to Omicron.

I love cats.
It'll be fine as long as Fezzik runs it. Never know he might even bring a decent wage into the house from it as well
Until the alley cats start a speakeasy in it
If it's not connected to the house and opening and closing the garage door really is so tedious you could always leave it open and just regard it as the equivalent of an automobile lean-to

It's kind of wasted on me, I thought of it as a downside since I'm "paying for it" but will probably get far less use out of it than most people. If I could cut it down to a one-car and get more yard I would (and I'd be tempted to do away with it entirely if not for resale considerations sometime down the line). But, I admit, on the first snow of the year it's quite nice.

I doubt I'll use it to actually house the car more than a half a dozen times a year, when I explicitly know it'll be super cold or snowy the next day. I'll still mostly just be parking out front.
Hey, in our case we have a huge two-car garage that will likely never house a car because it's a storage area instead (for tools, a snowblower, the lawn mower, a generator, gas cans, shovels, weed whackers, and even spare appliances.

At least now you have a place to store a lot of those outdoor things that come with having a yard.

Also, an attached garage would steal some of the heat in the winter. Detached = don't have to heat it in any way. Can you remote-start your car from the house to warm it up, or is the garage too far/not windowed on the right side for that to work?

Yeah, UV rays are pretty damaging for rubber. Plus, since it'll have less rapid changes in temps that should help with the rubber seals on the doors and such.
