One of the first things I learned when I moved to Lancashire was that chips fried in lard were like no chip I'd ever tasted. From that moment I was an honorary Woolyback.
Re the sticks of butter - that's really handy for baking purposes. Rodent, I'll have a look in Asda, never noticed them there.
Strictly semi skimmed milk for me, but always butter never margarine. Have always had butter through the low fat health dictats and out through the other side into the 'no proof that saturated fat is bad for you' sunlight.
Bonjour!

Yes. As Yoda said, they're typically sold in boxes of four individually wrapped sticks. Each stick is 1/2 cup (4 oz.).
Yep, full cream milk is certainly filling. I couldn't drink it now but it's still great on cornflakes. I'm strictly a semi-skimmed guy these days - full skimmed is too watery and doesn't last as long.

Rodent - I get my butter in M&S. They feed their cows on oilseed rape to make it easier to spread. Genius.

When I was growing up one of my grandmothers still had fresh milk in big glass bottles. I'd grown up on skim milk. One time I had a big glass of chocolate (whole) milk, and was confused because felt like I'd eaten a meal afterwards.
ASDA do sticks, I'm sure of it.

Never bought them myself though, I use margarine. Butter just destroys the bread.
My grandparents used to have sticks of butter, but they owned a dairy farm so it was never bought like that - never seen it in shops here.

Yes and no; it's sold in groups of sticks, usually four. And each one is individually wrapped with rulers written on the outside to make it easy to cut into the necessary size.

They sell tubs, too, but for baking purposes the sticks are a lot easier.

I don't either, but after the horrific "Abigail's Party" finished, watching the last 3 minutes of the Superbowl wasn't so bad.
