"Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow."
Holy cow... after all these years, I've only just realised that the guy playing the miner at the start of Jurassic Park is the same actor who played the punk Archie in Repo Man.
Extra Pulp Fiction?
Wow.
How to make Pulp Fiction even better - Part I:

Yeah. Hard for me to tell where your narrative is going Minio. I guess that's the whole charm of your angle. Sucks being me.
Dunno, dude. I watched it alone in my dark room, and had the best cinematic experience in a long time.

Mandy was OK. I think the so-called shock value will wear off and it will end up in the pile with all the rest of the flicks before too long. It's really just a revenge story.
Like Ebert said, it's not what it's about but how it's about it. Even the greatest movies can be broken down into some trite-sounding log line, and describing Mandy as "a revenge story" really doesn't do much justice to the audio-visual experience it crafts. Of course, you are right in that we have to wait and see if it stands the test of time, but I feel pretty confident about its chances.

I'm sure a probably too loud theater experience really influenced my notion of the film.

Then again, some of the imagery seems to elevate this beyond gory revenge film.

The shot of him turning the corner to face Brother Klopek. Ah hell, just look...

If I decorated with movie stuff, that would be on a wall somewhere.

Mostly ditto: the human condition sucks.
What gets me is how sometimes the reasons one can think of for deliberately quitting social media and online communities can so easily sound like the words of suicidal people. You don't think it's worth going on, nobody else will really miss you when you go (or maybe they will and yet that doesn't help) and so on and so forth. Like you said, the human condition sucks (the actual condition, not the Kobayashi film).
Life is hard and very sad. Being neurotic (me) doesn't help. The realization that you can't help everyone was always hard for me to grasp.

I'll miss Camo, but I'm more worried about the people here trying to make it work. I guess some could see that as being cold, but you can't do everything.
