TLDR: I assume you install, then clone, then make the new SSD the boot drive?[/quote]No, you download an ISO and burn it to a CD. Boot from the CD and then clone the old drive to the new drive. Then you can change the boot order and reformat/remove the old drive.

The software is built using Linux and runs in a preboot environment, so there's no installing to be done. I keep a disc with it around the house for such occasions.[/quote]
