Don't know why I decided to find this out, but the Hollywood connection makes it worthy of a shout on MoFo.

It stems back to the 1950s when Hollywood actor Cary Grant was meeting a woman at the Mayfair Hotel and he asked one of the staff to prepare the room for a night of romance as the lady he was meeting was going to arrive before him.
One of the things he asked for was a trail of chocolates that led from the door to the bed, with one last chocolate left on the pillow.
Basically, Grant arranged for a sweetie trail to the bed... kinda like a pervert with a trail of candy and a box propped up with a stick at the end
When the manager/owner of the hotel heard of Grant's request for his special lady, he thought it would be a good idea to have a little piece of Hollywood magic for all his guests ,and made it a custom to include a chocolate, or chocolate mint, on the pillow of every bed in the hotel ready for when the next guest checks in.
Since then, it's a custom in most hotels of mid-high standard.
So next time you check into a hotel and there's a sweetie on the pillow... just remember, it started with a creepy, womanising Hollywood star, who was cheating on his then-Wife Betsy Drake, in a tacky hotel.
Don't know why I decided to find this out, but the Hollywood connection makes it worthy of a shout on MoFo.

Never moving that much crap again. I'll pack it up. But no way i'll ever move that much stuff again. I'd rather take a few things and just start collecting some new crap.
