The Shoutbox
The bird doesn't seem to be singing to us much. Mostly just chirping and squawking (Atticus, you lie!). Anyway, it chased me and the dog out of the backyard this morning. And yeah, we think it's just a nest. My wife overheard someone else in the neighborhood saying the same thing.

Of all the houses he could've chosen...
lol
This morning? That must have been exhausting.
I just made 1000 posts!
There’s one thing I do well: consume. I consume like nobody’s business.
It comes in cycles for me. Writing, drawing, music. They each last an intense few months, one at a time, then on to the next segment usually abandoning a project halfway through as inspired distractions take over. I've never been very disciplined in that respect.
But I mostly think it was the people I unfollowed on Twitter
So it’s no big accomplishment my recent reviews but writing them has been beneficial to my well being. I don’t see myself writing like I did in high school.

College squeezed all the words out of me. Most of that drive is gone. I have a lot of respect for people who write a lot.

Oui...
You know the Mockingbird is actually my favorite bird. Never had a problem with one. I see them often when I walk the woods, and they just flutter to a branch and croon. I knew one who perched outside my window in a place I lived in years ago, and all he did was sing his heart out for me - imitating one bird song after another. I actually would start to laugh - it was if he was auditioning for American Avian Idol.

However I don't doubt he's swooping in at ya Yoda. Two reasons to explain this that I read online:
1- They're being affected by our toxins! sadly if there is a lot of lead in the soil , it makes these birds aggressive.

2- He...or she....is protecting their nest. So this may all be solved shortly, when you have a whole herd of baby mockingbirds , who will eventually fledge and fly away.

One solution I read is to make a big cardboard 'hawk' - and hang it where he can see it - that may cause your lil gray buddy to flee.

If all else fails, maybe you should just sit back , clap and enjoy the music.

But please, whatever you do, don't even think of killing one. Like Atticus said, that's a sin.
