Yeah, I get that. My favourites of his are ‘Dead Man’ and ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’. Could be I just didn’t dig DDD (admittedly, I’m not too hot on zombies - the only ones I’ve ever truly liked are ‘The Night Eats the World’ and ‘28 Days Later’). But my feeling was, this just wasn’t really Jarmusch’s subject matter, and he couldn’t do it justice. Also, imo horror comedy is extremely hard to pull off even without the additional burden of zombies.
I can appreciate slow movies but this felt a bit dead. Not that I can really judge from 20min.
