Ya, get the one that is actually less than 300 bucks, but has a price tag of 300 dollars.

What type of camera, tho...seriously.

Video cam?
I'm shopping for a camera for under 300 dollars, any recommendations?
This sounds an awful lot like conjecture to me. Is this based on much more than anecdotal evidence? Regardless, Sony's own supply chain problems are another matter entirely.
Look around and read too, it's pretty evident that it's a mission impossible to buy one. Sony even took it off their SonyStyle website, for goodness sakes!!
Like I said Sedai, it was damn close to impossible to find a 20GB model so you were forced to buy a 60GB one.

If we're comparing the same model with a different price tag, that's a price cut.
Sure, but you said that it's "a price drop no matter how you cut it." My point was that there's at least one way you can cut it in which it's not a price drop, and that that's probably the most important way.
Since when has quantity been indicative of quality. You're posting on a movie site, for Christ's sake, you should know by know that box office does NOT equal absolute quality.
Like I said over 90% of every shipment was the 60GB model. I've never seen a 20GB version in stores and they were always sold out online. And now, they don't make them anymore.

It IS a price cut, Yoda.
It is a price cut for the higher end model only. The lower end model simply has more disk space. Therefore, to someone who finds the price too high (IE: most people), all Sony has done is added more disk space.

I'm sorry to say but, you're making the entire thing way too complicated.
I am quite certain that I'm not, but here's a simplified version: before, someone with $498 could not buy a PS3. After the "price cut," they still can't.
The 60GB model was 600 dollars when it came out. It had WiFi and memory card readers on top of that. Now, it is 500 dollars. That's the price cut.

Budump...
But wait, the cheapest I can get into a PS3 is 500 dollars right...which is what I would have had to pay to get into the cheapest PS3 when they first launched, right? How is that a price cut again?

500 > 500?
500 < 500?

500 = 500

It is as simple as this, if something costs the same as it did previously, but has changed somewhat, it isn;t a price cut, by any stretch of the imagination. It is a BONUS feature for the same money. That doesn't constitute a price cut. Please logically explain how 500 dollars is somehow less than 500 dollars.
Why would I "pretty much have to buy" the 60GB?

Blu-Ray is weak? Ha! Tell me OG-, which format has the all time best selling movie for HD content? Uh, uh..Blu-Ray is correct.
Kristen Wiig is quickly shooting up the list of all time greatest female SNL cast members. She cracks me up.
