I can drive stick too--learned and tested on one way back in the 1970s. But I now choose automatic transmissions. From what I've read, there is no very little reason to buy a standard transmission (based on mechanical reasons people used to buy them for). 

If they're just your preference, then go right ahead. But I hated having to start on a hill in icy weather with some idiot right up my back bumper! No thanks! :D That extra control I had in snowy weather was offset by situations like those hills. :D[/quote]
