Manual transmission is cheaper. That’s reason enough. The fun factor is just icing on the cake.
I can’t do it y’all. I thought I could but I been crying into my soup bowl all day. I’ll eat rice cakes for the next 3 years

Drive stick? My already high respect for you just went up a notch or 2!

Ha, different Jetta than the one I had at the time of your visit.
I can drive stick too--learned and tested on one way back in the 1970s. But I now choose automatic transmissions. From what I've read, there is no very little reason to buy a standard transmission (based on mechanical reasons people used to buy them for).

If they're just your preference, then go right ahead. But I hated having to start on a hill in icy weather with some idiot right up my back bumper! No thanks! That extra control I had in snowy weather was offset by situations like those hills.

I kinda feel like the entry-level new car price is $30k from here on out.

So many people just finance out stuff for a decade, it’s kinda lost on them as long as they can make a payment.

Yeah, one great thing about the south is we got a lot of cars. Cars all over the place, man. I mean, they ain't pretty...but they run. My only requirement is a manual transmission.

Fair, fair. I could tell the market was fairly inflated, as my VW dealership emailed me and wanted to buy my Jetta for over book value. I asked what they had in stock for certified used that I could trade up to, and he said "Not much, hence my offer."

Actually, the used car market isn't bad at all around here. It's only a bad market if you're picky.
What will you get into for transportation now? Used car market is inflated pretty badly rn...

I do. It's the best car I have ever owned, but I still got 3 years left to pay on it. And there's too many things I want to do to improve this house.

Plus, the offer was way too good to pass up.
