Try being the person explaining “why I didnt tip”. Its never a good look.
You're right. It isn't. That's why if I find out an establishment is asking me 20% for because someone handed me something in a cabinet, I generally don't repeat business.

I tend to divide whether I tip based on whether the person works behind a counter and never crosses that threshold, or if they have to come to my table or my house to bring me whatever I ordered. At least, that's the way it used to be...

Having said that, I do often extend tips to people behind the counter anyway. Usually that's based on someone's work ethic and attitude and the service I receive.
I understand the sentiment, but tipping has become a sort of "humanitarian hack" (a crass one at that) that social engineers customers to pay wages that should be covered by the employer. Everyone should get a living wage and gratuity should reflect reward of service and not the obligation to make sure that the underpaid employee can pay rent. In a few years the new minimum will be 30%, in which case I will frequent such establishments even less (as the actual price is much much higher than the menu promises).
blue coconut dr pepper

Sometimes I hit Sonic and those prices can makes ya feel like 👸 so I see nothing wrong with a 40% tip then
I tip absurdly because I know people aint getting paid fair wages. But I almost exclusively eat out only at Chick-fil-A.

That makes it even weirder, seeing as tip culture is very much an American thing.

Yeah, I noticed that. It was important to me to hire a domestic artist.

If it doesnt bother you, thats fine.

This is akin to everyone using a Square or its equivalent, having a tip prompt.
