maybe it's not a great analogy, but that's what it kind of reminds me of for whatever reason.  maybe because it strikes me as people being afraid of change.  i miss some people, too, though i do understand it's the nature of forums for people to flit in and out, and i honestly think this is a slump moreso than it is some kind of final resting place[/quote]

I don't think that analogy quite rings true though. I think for a lot of us, there are a specific group of people that make the experience on this forum what it is, and when those people start to cut back their activity, go into lurker status, or disappear entirely the experience isn't the same and is lessened.
