The Shoutbox
Re: not being decent because you don't think the place is decent. That's probably true. Unfortunately it's exactly the attitude that perpetuates whatever problems there are. It's a complete inversion of that Gandhi quote.

I question how much of it was just a matter of the site changing or me changing or both. I certainly didn't post about politics nearly as much (if at all) a decade or so ago, so who knows how present-day me would feel about the 2004 version of this site. Not really worth thinking about, I guess.

Just like I would really love a long-form review of Mandy that I could never write.
Nice try.

This is a common refrain I see in life. "This neighborhood, this workplace, this job" isn't as good as it use to be. As thick as I am, that one always strikes me when people are complaining about something they are actively a part of.

Yep, since the redesign a few years back! There's a lot of little things like that.

Hell, I kept thinking I'd quit once I'd done the Women's Countdown. The problem is that this site's longevity and the duration of my own membership has made it hard to just up and quit. I think the last time I did this was in 2010 or so but I still came back, so who knows what it'll take for me to really turn my back on this place for good.

I will miss him as well, but I want to be here. I keep stuff in my pocket, like others do, in order to maintain a decent standing in this community.

I'm pretty sure there are people posting under aliases and through other accounts anyways, so there's that anyways.

Isn't it awesome that the Shoutbox doesn't have a rulebook!

Even better...If you're an introvert and trying to engage with people, if you throw out 300 lines and get 5 bites, isn't it better to get the 5 bites?

In order to endear myself to you Matti, you can call me denden.
