One exception to that could indeed be when you're carrying something heavy, as AgrippinaX pointed out.
Perception of time is subjective and relative to multiple factors, including how much you're looking forward to something. We find this in the very expression "I can't wait for X." Well, if you can't wait for it, it's a given it's going to be one helluva wait because you're setting your mind on waiting. Besides all this, I find that returning from somewhere always feels shorter than going somewhere. Might be a matter of perspective, too. You go somewhere to do something. You return having done that, so that thing is no longer on your mind, and as such you can't "can't wait" for it.
You’re presumably carrying heavy stuff back from the store/in the very least have a trolley. Re: vacation — maybe because it’s the first time you’re driving there and the route is unfamiliar? If not, no idea as it’s usually the opposite for me.
somebody tell me why the walk back to the car always feels longer than the walk to the store entrance, but the drive to a vacation spot feels longer than the drive home?

You can’t have everything.

With lesbians.
if one of them doesn’t drive a truck or Subaru and wear their keys on a carabiner then believability goes right out the window.
Next year I will try for 200-250.
