The Shoutbox
Well, I got my last three jobs via LinkedIn, each better paid than the other. This was just recruiters messaging out of the blue. In terms of ‘having your real name on it’, well, yes, but plenty of people nowadays have ‘Helen S.’ on LinkedIn, and I think that’s a good compromise. I don’t engage in any ‘unhinged and combative’ conversations whatsoever on LinkedIn (that’s why I’m here, heh).

*sarcasm alert*
The craziest thing I saw on LinkedIn was a self-proclaimed white nationalist engaging in a discussion with LGBT folks in the comment section below a picture showing a lesbian couple with a child they called their own.
The craziest thing about Facebook or LinkedIn is that people actually have their real name along with employer info, etc., and yet they're more unhinged and combative than most people in other places, where they can hide behind a nickname. This is still quite unfathomable to me.
I'd argue that Twitter is about as useful as wet toilet paper.
Everyone's got a social media platform they draw the line on, and usually the "last" one is one they barely use.

Unfortunately a couple (Twitter/Facebook) are just way too useful, logistically, to ditch or fully ignore, but I find the worst of each is pretty easy to avoid if you're using them for pretty discrete reasons. It's the scrolling just to pass the time, looking for something to latch onto, that's bad.
I don’t really use it, but I still haven’t deleted it.
OMG it is SO bad. I have to keep one up but I rarely check it. I keep getting job offers from super sketchy folk.
I think LinkedIn is far worse than Facebook these days. Yet I keep one for the inevitability of its need. Haven't been on Facebook since 2012. But I'll doom scroll Instagram til my eyes bleed.
Fair. I tend to use to mostly for bands/music and to keep in easy contact with faraway friends and family etc. I still mostly hate FB, though.
I’ve deleted all that except LinkedIn. Tragic, I know.
Yeah, I don't scroll Facebook at all. I only use Messenger.
