The first Blade movie and that opening scene I’m drawing a blank on other movies that have a culmination of music and action that easily beat that.

Even the opening credits of Drive with Nightcall and the getaway scene with Tick of the Clock are arguably not as great.
I like how well done it was, good editing choices, minimal cgi, and still looks awesome today.
Baby Driver opening sequence,
Diva scene in Fifth Element,
Scene in Matrix where they enter the building to rescue Morpheous.
Mad Max: Fury Road has a couple scenes like it.
Also they utilise an actual guitarist and drummers as characters

Watching a movie a week is going to be one of 2021 NYRs.

What’s funny is I love Christmas and it’s my favorite holiday but the lead up and arrival of it is always a disappointment. Then I’m depressed that I missed the moment and gotta wait another year for that feeling. It gets shorter and shorter.

I always thought it would be nice if my family drank for the holidays, just a little.

Something to keep us around and talking. We don’t do activities and “some people” don’t enjoy the gift-giving ceremonies. Maybe it’s childhood trauma, so I can understand.

I don’t think I’m being selfish, so much as the older I get, there a lot more of these family holidays behind than there are ahead. You feel like making the most of them, but maybe I should just be happy with the little moments.
