The Shoutbox
I think we could get any going again...any takers?
Here's the link to our very own tried and failed movie club. We only had one discussion in this thread, the rest getting their own individual threads, but it gives an idea of what we tried to do. We discussed the remake of Lolita.

We made it through 7 films before people lost interest. Though, we were trying to pick films that weren't always considered the normal fare, so it didn't always appeal to the masses.

We had discussions on The Breakfast Club, A Clockwork Orange, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Labyrinth, The Ogre, and The Dirty Dozen…and that’s when it died.

I would definitely be up for resurrecting the movie club.

BTW Linda: You were a part of it. You chose Night of the Living Dead, but the club went the way of the Dodo before we had the chance.

I sure liked it, but I'm a BIG Glenn Ford fan. Seeing Van Heflin in something besides Shane is treat enough anyway.
hmm...this movie club is something to think about...

Oops, I have to go get Yoda at the airport! Almost forgot! LOL!
I remember that it didn't do well, but did you (a) pick movies that were easy to find, and (b) give everyone enough time to watch them? Those are the two big things I could see being important to making it work.
I've been part of a movie club. It was fun for about a month and then people stopped making time to see the films... I'd be up for it if someone wants to start one here, though.
Has anyone here ever started a movie club (like a book club) where we all watch the same movie and then come back and discuss it?
Holds and Mrs Struck, my 'meh' for Crash was one of indecisiveness. I liked the film, but not as much as i thought i would. There were moments of it that i loved, but then there were others which i came away from wondering whether they were necessary. Good film, but not great. And really quite sad. I think.

Yeah, you're right...there isn't one made specifically for The Big Lebowski. I'll go ahead and reopen it.
I'm scared too.

And not just because of that, but because when I got home late last night I found the BLOODY HOOK OF THE ESCAPED KILLER caught in my car door!!!
Holden, sometimes your databank of ready-make facts and stories scares me. Like, ummm, now.
