I may take a bit of flack for this, but is there any way to have those with english as a second.. or third (or whatever) language listed as such in their posts? Maybe an extra option you can choose to have that show up in your posts... I'm not as big on exact sentence structure, grammar and such as some here, but sometimes these posts are just plain BAD, but I'm willing to give someone whose first language is not english some slack... whereas if english IS your first language, and you communicate in such a poor manner, you need to be slapped down from time to time.

Also, if you watch Jaws having already seen the shark in various clips and such, you're not really seeing it the way it was meant to be seen. It's hard to avoid this sort of thing with a classic film like Jaws, but it still has to be taken into account when critiquing it.
Jaws is a great film. Anyone who says it's drivel is being deliberately contrary, IMHO. I can see why someone might not like it, no accounting for taste and such, but to suggest it's the worst movie ever? Now that's drivel. The worst movie said person has ever seen, maybe, but certainly not the worst ever.
2001 does take some patience, but, Jaws? That films moves right along, IMO. Jaws is SO good. Come on man, it has Quint!

Just when I thought things were going so well between us this morning, Meat. Then I run across a thread where you rag on Jaws AND 2001...
Blasphemous!

Cool.
Oh damn, I meant to mention the Coen's works as a whole for great cinematography, especially Miller's Crossing and Barton Fink.
Hmmm, have you seen Miller's Crossing? That is some KILLER work, there...

Do you still have a copy? Watch it again, a friend of mine just reminded me he didn't care for Chinatown first time through (he felt it had pacing issues). After a second viewing, after he knew what to expect and what the story entailed, he had more time/energy to absorb the craftsmanship, and he was blown away.
Maybe give it another go?
