The People's Republic of Clogher
You'll see North By Northwest's DNA in practically every modern big budget thriller/chase movie.

The disc arrived in the post this morning. I didn't believe that there'd be that much of a difference in picture quality from the already excellent DVD release but there is.

It's stunning.

Welcome to the human race...
Video store was closing down and it was selling off its stock. Here's what I managed to pick up on DVD...

Casablanca
Sweet Smell of Success
Arizona Dream
Manhunter
American Psycho
Brick
Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii
The Last Waltz
After Hours
Demons
Brass Eye
Aqua Teen Hunger Force (Season 1)
The Office (Season 1)

Nice haul, Iro. US or UK for The Office?

Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

The first two are both long overdue (especially The Time Machine which I've always adored), and Kathy has been nagging me to get Time After Time, because she loves anything even remotely linked to Jack the Ripper.

To anyone who hasn't seen either...they make a fantastic double bill.

That's the 1974 original Gone In 60 Seconds by the way. Never seen it but it looks pretty cool.

Picked up Children of Men... which was a blind buy as I still have not seen it...
