I didn't care about the romance between Daniel Day Lewis's character and the character played by Madeleine Stowe either.

Fabulous
Michael Mann does a nice job of mixing war, action, drama, romance, and adventure to create a beautiful and inspiring movie.

Coras character is dealing with a lot of intense circumstances, and I thought that the portrayal of the growing attraction she feels toward Hawkeye made sense in the context of the film.
